Face of the Day: 12/19/08

Hey everyone! I thought It'd be fun to do a "face of the day" (FOTD) post here on my blog. It's pretty easy to do when I'm on the news, because I can just watch it back on my Tivo, pause it and take a pic with my camera... and I know I'm under good lighting when I'm anchoring :) Since I haven't come up with a better method other than taking a picture of the TV- there is slightly more contrast, in other words, dark things look darker than they actually do. But overall it's a pretty good representation. I may do this for just everyday looks as well in the future. It's almost like getting a tutorial... only you just see the finished product- and all the items it took to get to that point! Hope you enjoy it!-- BONUS- this look is all drugstore with the exception of just a couple of items!

STEP #1 FACE MAKEUP
-First I used my Laura Geller Spackle Primer (just a sample I have- love it)
-Used my Coastal Scents Stlippling brush to aply the Rimmel Lasting Finish Foundation- in Soft Beige
-Maybelline Mineral Power concealer in Sand around my nose for redness
-Bobbi Brown Corrector in Bisque on inner & outer corners of eyes
-Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer & Sheer finish loose powder duo in Natural
-Set everything w/ Mary Kay loose powder in Beige 1
STEP #2 BRONZER/BLUSH
-Applied a light dusting of the matte bronzer in Milani Sunset Duos in Sunset Beach (top, center)- I use this all over my face
-In key places sun would hit your face, I used Wet & Wild Bronzer in Tahitian Tan (left)
-CoverGirl Cheekers in Golden Pink as a cheek contour (bottom, center)
-Milani Minerals blush in Mai-Tai on apples of cheeks

STEP #3 EYESHADOW
(refer to pic w/ eyes closed to get a good idea of how I used these)
-On left- Jane Mineral Eyeshadow in Dune (used the lighter shade all over lid)
-Middle- L'oreal HIP shadow in Foxy (used dark brown shade in crease, and more heavily in outer corners
-On right-Cover Girl shadow in Golden Sunset- used center shade, "Golden Sunrise" all over brow bone- right up the the brow, and highlighted under the are w/ the light shade, "First Light"

STEP #4 LINERS & LASHES
-First lined the top lashline with Revlon Colorstay liquid liner in Blackest Black
-Lined lower lash line with Revlon Colorstay pencil liner in Black Brown
-Curled lashes, and applied a coat of Max Factor 2000 Calorie Mascara in Rich Black
-Used Duo Dark Tone Waterproof eyelash adhesive to apply Andrea Mod Lash eyelashes #53
-Applied one more coat of 2000 Calorie Mascara to bond real lashes to falsies

STEP #5 LIPS
-Blistex Daily Conditioning Treatment to add moisture to lips
-Mary Kay lipstick in Amber Suede
-Topped with Maybelline Lip Polish in Nude Flash (gives it a golden look)
---------------------------------------------------
*Hope you enjoyed this FOTD! Look for more to come in the future! Have a great weekend!
