When I woke up this morning, this was what I found on the kitchen counter next to the coffee maker- the first place I go at 1:30 a.m. when I get up & get ready for the morning newscast. On a day that I found it especially tough to get myself up out of bed, this really set the tone for an awesome day. Sorry guys, no beauty blogging here, and no YouTube videos today. It's Tyler's & my 3 year anniversary!♥

Nothing beats truffles & a dozen gorgeous pink tipped roses to start the day, but August of 2009 marks a lot of milestones for Tyler and myself that we can be plenty grateful for... even without flowers & chocolate. We've been together since 2001 (junior year of high school), and now we've gotten through three years of marriage- during what was probably one of the most stressful times of our lives. Within weeks of our wedding, we were both just getting started in the real world. We moved nearly 6 hours from home, Tyler was beginning the scary endeavor of law school, and I began the search for a job at a TV news station (forunately I found it fairly soon). After taking on a handful of positions, I've now moved on to become a full time anchor- and after hours upon hours of studying- Tyler has graduated law school and taken (and hopefully passed) the bar exam. During much of that time- I was making YouTube videos... a great way for me to exercise my creative bone and relieve the stress of story deadlines and live reports.

While the past 3 years have been a time of progress, they haven't been without tough moments. In case you don't know much about the relationship between me & Tyler, he's the calm, cool, & collected one and I'm the emotional one that's always sharing feelings and not really holding much back. So whenever I was missing family or stressing about my job, Tyler was my shoulder to lean on. He's always been that way. He doesn't judge me, doesn't try to change the way I feel... but he's always been there for me, and willing to do anything for me. I like to think I've been sort of a "cheerleader" for him as he embarked on one of his most difficult journeys in his life.

No matter how rough the road is in your journey- no day should go unappreciated. A new day is a new chance to start fresh. Try your best, treat people with love, and do what you know is right. Even on a down day, let your light shine. It will in turn lift you up, and take others with you.
I'm grateful for all of you who have kept up with my online makeup endeavors. You continually brighten my day, and I hope I'm able to return the favor.
On that note, I'll have a truffle :)
