QOTW: Touching Up Makeup

Hey Everyone! In this week's Question of the Week, I asked how many times a day do you touch-up your makeup? Here's what you had to say...

  • Never touch-up: 172 (39%)
  • 1 or 2 times: 246 (55%)
  • 3 to 5 times: 20 (4%)
  • More than 5 times: 2 (0%)
    Votes so far: 440

I predicted this one correctly! I figured it would be one or two times for most people. That was my answer- except on certain days I might re-apply lipstick a little more and that results in more touch-ups. But on the average day it's 1 or 2 times for me. What really surprised me was what came in second place... I figured 3 to 5 times would beat out never touching up, but that was not the case! Whatever the situation is for you- you might get some tips from my Makeup Touch-up tips video! I first put this out about a month or so ago, but thought it definitely fit with the topic of this blog :) Don't forget to answer next week's Question!

Hey friends! Hope you all had a great day today! My day went pretty well. Except things got off to a bit of a rough start this morning- I started to fall behind because I just couldn't decide on what outfit to wear for the news this morning! (I realize this is not a major crisis, but I thought you stylish people would have some advice). I'll almost always pick out what I want to wear the night before since I get up so early, but I guess I didn't have any good ideas so I just hoped it would "come to me" in the morning. Not the case! Even though I have a LOT of clothes- sometimes I just cannot decide what to wear! And too much repitition is not good when you're on TV everyday! Do you guys ever have this problem? A closet full of clothes and you just find yourself staring at it, wondering why you can't just come up with something? I've heard of people going "shopping in their closet" by trying to rediscover some older stuff you haven't worn in awhile, and I think that's something I need to do. But overall, I'm ready for fall. When I can wear sweaters and layer more since it's not so hot out, I feel like I have many more options. Enough of that little complaining session! haha... tomorrow is my last day of work for the week! Then some time for rest and relaxation! woohoo! :D hope you all have a great day!

  1. have you ever thought of taking pictures of the outfits that you do wear so that there isn't repetition? or maybe just adding a scarf? or different jacket or vest?

  2. Taking pictures is great idea! I used to have the same problem you do a short while ago, and starting taking pics of my outfits. This way I know exactly how long it was since I last wore a particular combination and helps me select something different. Maybe you could start a fashion blog as well! ;)

  3. I have the same problum with clothing... I have a lot of diffrent kinds of top and a lot of simalur botoms I tend to run to those situations where I don't know what to wear.

What helped me, was to take out some clothing peaces that I thought that I would like and lay them on my bed, to see what kind of outfit I would be abble to come out with... Let me know if this helps you with the morning clothing probulms!!!!

  4. Dido with the picture comments! I was having this problem a while ago and one of my magazines...cosmo I think...suggested taking polaroids of your favorite outfits and hanging them on your closet wall, so on those days where you feel like you have nothing to wear you will gain some inspiration! Honestly, I haven't done it yet, but I think it's an awesome idea!! Also, occasionally I'll have a little fashion show for myself on a night im not busy just to see what old clothes look on me. Sometimes I will look at the same shirt over and over and not be in the "mood" for it, and then finally try it on and remember why I bought it in the first place! Anyway, good luck and I think starting off your day like that really does get to the best of us, so not to worry!! :)
