New House News: Painting Progress

Hey friends! I'm going to get back to beauty-related blogs soon, promise! These house updates are just so quick to post with pics from my Blackberry. We've made big progress on the painting (and by we, I mostly mean Tyler :) I think I mentioned this before- but we're not doing a whole lot of painting in the house, but a few rooms are getting a new look. We're leaving a lot of the paint pretty light throughout the house- but as you see below, I'm going for a deeper, cozy look in the dining room. This shade is called "Sangria Red" and I think it's gorgeous. It looks a bit darker than it actually is in this picture... but I just love how it's turning out. This picture shows one coat- but there are 2 coats on it at this time.

One of the small details of a new house- lining those cabinets! I got this shelf liner from Wal-Mart. It's really neutral and you basically just cut it to the size you want and lay it in there. There's no adhesive on this- but it lays surprisingly flat and I think it'll work well. The grid pattern also makes it very easy to cut it straight!

As far as the bathroom- this is the set I just purchased! If you want to see it on the site- click here!

Thanks for stopping by my blog! Have a wonderful weekend!
Emily

  13. I have used that shelf liner in three different houses I have lived in. You never have to change it--you can just wipe it clean every now and then. It's a great product!

  15. The color is very dramatic and cozy. BHG just had a thing about lining and almost like wallpapering the shelves for kitchen cabinets. it was very cool with Wedgwood looking paper lining the cabinets.
