Welcome to My New Makeup Room!

Hey everyone! It's been so long! I'm finally all moved in to my new house :D One week ago we
made the big move, and we're still getting everything situated, and still waiting on most of our
living room furniture to come in, so I'm going to hold off on a full house tour for a little bit.
However- the new home of Beauty Broadcast is coming along quite nicely! There are still a
few small decorative additions I'm making, but overall- it's a fully functional makeup room!
Check out this video for a tour!

This weekend I've been continuing to add to the room- so here are some pictures of new
things I've done since I posted that video! :D

I added some flowers to my makeup desk- bright pink of course! I've also put up my beauty board (half bulletin board, half dry erase board on the wall facing my desk. This tends to serve as my to-do list for future videos!
Here's something I'm really proud of! Back story... even when the lights are on, it can be hard to see what's in my drawers that I store underneath the desk. So I thought, why not mount a
couple of small lights under the desk so when I open the drawers, I can easily see what's in them? I found a 2-pack of lights at Lowe's... they are Amertac UtilityLite and they each take 4 double A batteries, and turn on and off with a switch. Each attaches to your surface with
velcro adhesive squares- which come with the product. I have definitely been "assembly challenged" with all the new stuff we've brought into the house, but these were a snap! I had them up in 5 minutes and I'm enjoying them already! I have one over each of my stacks of drawers... they light up everything- even the very bottom drawer. The pack of two cost around $7.
I heavily rely on a clock while I'm getting ready for work and doing my makeup, so I got this cheap $5 black and white clock from Target. It's nothing fancy, but really pops on the pink wall.
I also got a couple of new knobs for the closet! The ones that were on there at first were just basic, and they actually looked grey. Now that I'm really starting to fine-tune the way this room looks, I thought- why not come up with some cuter knobs? So I found two of these faux crystal knobs at Lowe's... I'm practically as familiar with Lowe's as I am with Walgreens!! :0 Anyway, the cost a few dollars apiece and I did need help with this job. The original holes were too small so Tyler had to break out his tools and make them bigger. It worked out well!

I'll continue to post videos about the house and the evolution of the new Beauty Broadcast room! But this is the latest for now! :D Hope you're all having a great weekend, and keep an eye out for my latest contest video for the 50k Makeover Giveaway! It's a bridal look.
Love ya!
Em

I love some of your storage, great ideas! I also love the light underneath the table. I have the same problem and end up pulling the whole darn drawer out sometimes. LOL Great post, thanks for the ideas.

Hey Emily! Your makeup room is so cute! A quick question: can you tell me where you got your makeup brush holder from? It looks like a turntable, which seems like a smart way to store them! Thanks! :)

Hi, Emily! I am just watching your 'New Makeup Room' post from last year! I wanted to let you know that that makeup brush organizer you have is actually a Pampered Chef Tool Turnabout. I used to come in white, but now it comes in black... I think I'll get one for myself in my next supply order. If anyone is interested, my Pampered Chef website is www.pamperedchef.biz/kimsimons.

Thanks! And, I love all your videos. I always look forward to seeing your new posts...
