It is up to the retailers as to whether they want to take these limited edition collections. I'm told every one of Wet 'n Wild's promotions is offered to every retailer they work with, and then the retailer decides the following...
- If they want to take the collection
- The quantity they want
- When exactly they want to put them out
- And which individual stores they'll be distributed to
Wet 'n Wild says some retailers might opt out entirely when it comes to limited edition collections, others might put them in only half of the stores. I'm told they sometimes get overlooked for bigger name brand collections.
Wet 'n Wild says while they advise retailers of their designated release date for such collections, some will put them out on time, others will go early, late, or sometimes they're just missed altogether. I'm told Wet 'n Wild doesn't have any say or control over this phase of the game.
So what is the solution? How can these limited edition collections become more widely available? Here's a direct quote from the company...
"Our best solution would be to advise all of our fans to let their retailers know they want wet n wild. While we are constantly in their ears, the consumer voice is 10 times more powerful than ours. With us trying our best with our retailers and with the added help of our consumers, we can make wet n wild much more available."
♥
While many of us might not be pleased with the way the system works, at least we can all understand how the process goes, and what role we might play in getting more of our favorite products readily available. If you're reading this thinking- "what the heck are dream weavers?" -here's my video describing the six limited edition Wet 'n Wild eyeshadow trios. Thanks for stopping by the blog, and have a great day!

I'm telling you, I'm addicted to those freakin' shadows. I probably wouldn't even use the brighter shades but I want them. It's like this deep seeded need. It's a sickness. Thanks for the info Emily! :)

I think I saw these in my CVS today and totally overlooked them while scoping out nail polish :(!
I wanted to try one or two palettes.
I've already looked and haven't been able to find any yet =( but I'll keep searching.
I live in a town where we have 2 walmart 4 Lewis Drugs 6 walgreens and a couple shopkos and kmarts. None of these carried the collection. On the upside I did find one of the spring Vanite quads.
Thank you SO much for posting this. I try to tell my readers this exact thing every chance I get, because sometimes people like to put "blame" on Wet n Wild for not selling their LE products in their area. It seems that a lot of people aren't aware of how the LE distribution works, so thank you for posting this--I know it will reach a far wider audience now! :)
Another blog I read has a map where readers share where they've seen the limited edition shadows. Here's the link :)

Thank you very much for this article Emily, I truly understand the delay now. I'm really a big and dedicated fan of Wet n Wild products, have been for years since my first makeup purchase. I'm definitely going to my local Rite Aide and request that they please get these shadows in. I'm just sad that they're limited edition.
I was wondering why most of the stores didn't have the collections but one Rite Aid had the set. I will go to this one whenever a new collection comes out.
So far I've seen people have been finding them in California, mostly Rite Aids. Unfortunately they have closed all the Rite Aids in my town. It would be great if WnW can you some limited edition stuff and you can do a giveaway for your viewers LOL. Or they should start selling these on their website, they will get so much traffic & $ from those of us who are sick of going to every drugstore to track it down :)
I've given up on trying to find these. I live in a fairly urban area and not one CVS or Walgreens has this collection (they also never got the Gilded Age trio). And there are no Rite Aids here either. I have no idea why they don't sell directly on their website like other companies do but I refuse to run around wasting gas anymore looking for these shadows. It's ridiculous!
WOW I am still waiting for them to hit my area, I travel allot and first thing I do soon as I get to a new area Hit the stores in hunt of makeup closet ect.. and I haven't traveled far this past few weeks so I really want these.Hope I do find them soon.
I absolutely salute you for being so attentive to your readers and subscribers who were having a hard time finding this. The easiest solution was to tell us all to ask the company or the retailers ourselves, but you went and contacted them on our behalf (I even saw you posted on their fb page) so we can get a detailed and satisfying answer. This is exactly the reason I think you're probably the nicest and most communicating beauty guru out there! Thanks again Emily. Big love xoxo
You have good points there, that's why I always check your blog, it looks like you are an expert in this field. keep up the fantastic work, My friend recommends your site.

That was the explanation I was given when I asked the manager of my local Walgreen's (the only store in my immediate area that carries Wet-N-Wild) why they didn't have so many of the LE collections, both makeup and polish. Corporate simply doesn't feel that we need access to most of the LE collections. *sadness*
WnW's explanation that it's up to the retailer about whether or not they will carry the LE or when they put them out, doesn't really explain why WnW can't or won't tell consumers WHICH retailers have bought the LE displays so the retailers know exactly where to find them. They know who they've sold product to so why can't they tell that to the consumers?
*consumers* I meant so that consumers know exactly where to find them.
I think I might be able to help answer the anon's question above: I've been told that there is a central buyer for most retail chains that buys a bulk amount for ALL stores. Then, someone within the company then decides which stores will get which collections. So honestly, I do not believe WnW knows which individual stores get which collections since that decision is made AFTER the product has been purchased. Hope that helps!
I've looked all over for the gilded age trio and the new dream weavers trios and can't find them. I live in a small town where there is only 2 CVS stores 1 Walgreens and Walmart. It's so frustrating but thank you Emily for telling us how it works for LE items!
Well that's a bummer. I've been looking all over for these and have been unsuccessful. Guess now I know why. Wet n Wild really needs to offer their products to some online retailers like Cherry Culture. I know I would buy a lot more of their products if I could only find them!
I have been to CVS, Walgreens and Walmart, and I have not seen them. It sucks because these are great quality, and I love the interesting color combinations. Fingers crossed....
Usually if the store carries the WnW brand then they will receive the WnW limited edition prepack which is the makeup and the plastic that it sits in, however, some stores just don't put them out as quickly as they get them because of space issues(as the prepacks are usually not on the shelf but on end caps)or they could just get looked over, and in some cases usually depending on the size of the store they will opt out of receiving prepacks because they don't have a set location for the product and if it doesn't sell then they will be stuck with the extra product. I would say that the best bet is to go to the drugstore and if they carry WnW ask the makeup attendant if they received the WnW limited edition prepack they might just have it in the back! :)
I loved in the video you explain different ways to use each palette. I have been looking at the stores around me and none of them are carrying this, but I will definitely write a letter or something I want we're blasting off soooooo bad! I already have a few palettes like these from them and totally love them!
