Hello my friends! Hope your Monday is going well. I wanted to write up a blog about one of my favorite MAC eyeshadows... it's called Beauty Marked and it's a gorgeous black-plum with burgundy sparkle. It's very dark, and makes a great smudgy eyeliner, smokey eye, outer V, or crease shade.
I remember purchasing MAC Beauty Marked for $15.00 because I thought it was such a unique color! That was before I found the dupes... I know I've told you about at least one of these dupes before, but I thought it'd be good to make a blog to share my additional findings. Take a moment and try to decide which of the shades swatched below is Beauty Marked...
♥
Now... Answers to the swatch quiz!
The only really outstanding shade in this palette is the Beauty Marked dupe in the upper right hand corner. The other shades are definitely average to below average, but the dupe shade is really nicely pigmented and beautiful! As you can see in the swatch pic above, this one has a little more of a visible plum color than the other shades. I wanted to offer this dupe because I know not everyone has access to Wet 'n Wild.
♥
*Second Swatch*
MAC Beauty Marked ($15)
Not much more to say about this shade.... other than the fact that the Wet 'n Wild colors have an even creamier feel to them than this MAC shadow!
♥
Wet 'n Wild Color Icon 6-color Palette in Lust ($5)
I love this whole six color palette, which is a half & half mix of matte and shimmer. This shade, and the following Wet 'n Wild shade couldn't be closer to Beauty Marked!
♥
I believe this is the exact same shade in the other Wet 'n Wild palette. So whichever one you get your hands on... you'll have a Beauty Marked dupe!
♥
So how did you do on the little quiz? I gave it to Tyler, and on his fourth try, he chose the actual "Beauty Marked" shade :) One more thing- I always use a primer with my eyeshadows, and I haven't noticed any difference in the staying power of Beauty Marked versus the drugstore options.
Daily Nuggets...
- Cardinals are going to the World Series woohoo!!
- Cupcake and I played a rousing game of hide & seek when I got home from work.
- My mom is a sugar cookie genius and has gorgeous designs. I may have just talked her into starting a blog so she can share them!
- Just remembered I have an X-Factor to watch on DVR! I am LOVING that show!!

Those colors are gorgeous. I'll have to go get one of the drugstore dupes. :)
GO CARDS!!!
thx soo much!!!!
Hi Emily! I guessed the 2nd swatch right :) go me! ahah xxx
Cool blog post! I guessed that #3 was MAC Beauty marked... WnW makes great dupes and overall wonderful shadows! I cant wait to get my hands on the NEW baked shadows and 8 pan all matte palette :)
Thank you so much for posts like these! I love purple shadow, so the Wet n Wild palette is now on my shopping list. =)
I think I have the "Lust" from Wet n Wild. I can't really even tell the difference between the Mac and the Wet n Wild shades.
The L'Oreal H.I.P. duo in Sculpted 106 has a Beauty Marked dupe on the right. Gorgeous.
I love the L'Oreal Lavender Smokes quad, but I think we have the inverse of each other's palettes. The beauty Marked dupe in my Lavender Smokes palette is hard and lifeless, with no real pigmentation, and the other shades are buttery, and full of sparkle and color. Drugstore formulas are never really consistent, though, are they? :)
Love these dupe post, by the way!
thanks Emily for showing us drugstore dupes for the more expensive brand. i did choose #2 but only after reading your hints, tips and guidance. now i know what i am looking for! Tyler is such a great sport! keep these types of blogs coming and would love to see one from your Mom on sugar cookies! Yum Yum!!
The shade Supernova(the meteor-eyes baked eyeshadow)by Hard Candy is also a good dupe for Beauty Mark.
I failed lol!!! I guessed #1. Awesome post. I both both of the Wet n' Wild palettes. May pull them out have have some purple play this week.
Awesome! I honestly could not tell which one was beauty marked. I did do a blog post about that WnW Petal Pusher palette being some dupes for MAC, check out my post if you have time :) The black in the WnW post is a dupe for Black Tied and the light plummy color above the Beauty Marked color in the WnW palette is a dupe for Trax-all MAC shadows. Hope you're having a great Monday! xoxo Jen
So surprised! I have never really seen this shade except in your videos and so I didn't really know what it looked like on, but I guessed right. All of the shades look really gorgeous.
you got me! i guessed the forth one:)
Emily you are incredible... thank you for such an innovative post!!
I always notice that Wet N Wild has awesome dupes for Mac eyeshadows and they are also very pigmented for a cheap price! Love the colour!! :)
when i heard the Cardinals were in the series I thought "wow Emily is gonna love that". congrats on your Cardinals.
awesome post! Although the swatches are almost identical my favourite was the first one (L'Oreal) which is kinda cool considering I'd save a few pennies if I were to buy this instead of the MAC one. And I'd get 3 other shadows too! :)
As shocking as it may seem, my favorite swatch was the first one! And it's almost $10 cheaper compared to the MAC!
:( I wish they sold wet n' wild products in the drugstores near my house!
I went for swatch 1, and actually it is my favourite of them all! Thanks so much for including the L'oreal one too and thinking of us poor souls in other countries where Wet'n'Wild is impossible to find :)
Woo Thank you!!!
I'd love to see a tutorial on how to use that LUST palette from WnW. I bought it and LOVE the colors but when I use them I just end up looking like someone just gave me a shiner. Love your video tutorials!
Wow, I was totally wrong! This was a great post. Thank you!!

Would love to see your mom's sugar cookie blog, especially with the holidays coming up and lots of us wanting to bake!
I picked MAC's Beauty Marked correctly on my first guess, but it was because that swatch looked less pigmented than the others and hard to blend (it didn't streak as far down as the rest). I love MAC shadows for the most part, but some are really hard in texture and difficult to blend.
Hi Emily! I am just wondering if the eyeshadows from Wet n' Wild irritate your eyes. I got some of the NYX eyeshadows and my eyes water all day but if I use Tarte, Urban Decay or BE they don't. I am wondering how good they are for sensitive eyes.
I love when you do dupes! A lot of youtubers stick to high end stuff and some of us can't afford to buy 100 MAC shadows! Thanks for always giving us lots of options!
Great post! With two kids, I don't have tons to spend on makeup, but I enjoy playing around with fun colors occasionally. I'm going to order both of the wet & wild palettes on drugstore.com - only $4.99 each! I'd love to see a video tutorial on using these eyeshadows :) Looking forward to more dupe posts also. Thanks so much!
Wow the palette of wet'n wild are Amazing! Wow!
I've never really used Wet n' Wild products, but I'm surprised that it seems so good quality! I love seeing some of the less expensive dupes!
