Must-Have Brush!

Hello everyone! :) I'm embarking on a task that I know is going to be difficult... but I really want to see if I can pull it off! I'm going to try to do a blog-a-day in November! Can anyone think of a fun name for it? I'll be thinking.

Anyway, I'm kicking off the month with a blog about an AWESOME drugstore brush! It's the Ecotools Recycled Retractable Kabuki brush. I've had this brush for quite some time, and it sort of got lost in the makeup bag I take to work. Then when I started using it again recently, I kicked myself for forgetting about it! I can't remember what I spent on it, but I've done some searches it looks like it's somewhere between 5 and 10 dollars. I'm able to find Ecotools products at various drug/discount stores including Wal-Mart, Target, and also Ulta.

A retractable powder brush is SO nice to have. This can be great for applying powder, bronzer, or even blush. Despite fitting into a rather small recycled aluminum tube, the brush is pretty large, and has very soft, nicely tapered bristles. If you're not familiar with how these work, there is a shiny silver tube that pulls up and holds the bristles in so you can easily pop on the cap. When you want to use the brush, just take the cap off, slide the tube down, and you're ready to go! It's so great for travel because you don't have to worry about products rubbing up against your brush- it's totally protected. It's just fantastic quality for the price. When you clean this brush- try to keep water or brush cleaner confined to the bristles only (general rule of thumb with any brush so you don't loosen the glue that's holding the bristles in).

Daily Nuggets...
  • I am so tired. And perhaps a little cranky.
  • I need to catch up on last night's Dancing with the Stars.
  • Just saw a commercial for a Hardee's cheddar biscuit... nothing but cheese and a biscuit. I could see myself enjoying that.
  • I have so many video ideas floating around in my head right now!

  1. I actually have one of these! I'm actually really psyched to see I made a good choice on my own! Actually the one I have now is my second one...I had an accident with the first one when I attempted to clean it. But yes I love it :)

  12. I love this brush and use it everyday for touch ups. I recently took it out at the hair salon and had everyone asking me questions about it. The first thing a few of them thought was that it was a high end brand. When I told them it was Eco Tools and that they could purchase the brush at any drug store...well that sparked a whole different conversation.

  13. I have this brush too and love it! I keep very minimal makeup in my purse - just a lip gloss and a powder compact to touch up shine. I hate the puffs that come in those though, so this goes in the purse too - it's awesome because it's the first one I've owned that the cap stays on tight while thrown loose into a purse!

  17. NaBloPoMo (Natl Blog Post Month) is in November. Not quite the same as what you do here since I think all participants blog about a set topic each day (easier if you have writers block) but your wanting to post every day reminded me of that.

  18. I was going to suggest Blogvember too!

  19. I love Eco Tools brushes so much. I just bought a Kabuki brush, but it wasn't this one. I have probably close to 8 of their brushes and they're great, especially for the price. I also love the packaging and look of these brushes. There is a coupon on EcoTools website when you sign off, I think its either $1 or $2 off of 2 products, so worth checking out if you're going to be buying a brush anyways.
