Nails of the Day: Peachy!

Hi everyone! Happy Thanksgiving!! It was sort of like a normal work day for me... but that's ok! I'll be heading in to work tomorrow also. Glad I got to see my family this past weekend. This evening I did some much needed nail painting... my last color was getting really chippy. You know what a great activity is while you wait for your nails to dry? iPad games. In between games of Angry Birds, I painted my nails with Essie Van D'Go.

It's the perfect creamy peach color. I've really gotten in the habit of wearing bold, fall-type colors on my nails lately, or really sparkly shades. So I was just kind of craving a more subtle, light nail look. I love this shade :) You're looking at 2 coats of this polish, topped with a clear top coat of Sally Hansen Mega Shine (my favorite top coat). Overall, I like Essie polishes, though I find that they take awhile to dry. There's a great color selection, and I find that I'm usually drawn to the pale colors in the brand. So here's my question... do you stick to traditional fall type shades this time of year, or do you like to throw in something light?

Daily Nuggets...
  • Spent part of the afternoon working on my latest video. I did some planning for it yesterday too... stocking stuffers!!! I'm so excited.
  • I covered a story at a community Thanksgiving dinner today. 120 volunteers help put it on! So many sweet people.
  • I plan to start getting out the Christmas decorations tomorrow after work!
  • Turns out, it's not the tryptophan in turkey making you tired (you'd have to eat the whole turkey yourself to feel the effects!), it's all the Thanksgiving dinner carbs!

  1. I know you have so many people who leave you comments, emails, Tweets, and messages so I am not even sure if you will see this. But I posted on the Beauty Broadcast FB page a great nail polish I would love to see a review/demonstration on. It is called Nails Inc. London Magnetic Nail Polish. Its such an interesting concept. I believe it is sold at Sephora. The colors it comes in is a purple, teal, and a silver chrome shade. I put it on my Christmas list. :)

  2. I was going to buy that color the other day but decided against it because I knew I wouldn't start wearing it until Spring. Then I thought about my collection at home and I know that I'm slowly but surely gravitating towards more traditional "Fall/Autumn" colors over my bright and bold Summer colors. Maybe I'll pick up this shade early next year ;)

  3. I wear whatever polish colour I am feeling at the moment. I don't worry too much about time of year. I do like to wear a lot of red, green, gold and glitter over the Christmas holiday. :D

  4. I like the shade, for me it will be nice for Easter. As for seasonal shades, I do try to go with seasonal shades but also nudes year around.

  5. I do use some of the more fall type colors but I am definitely a slave to my whims when it comes to my nails. So I basically gravitate towards shades I'm feeling like.

  9. Your nails look pretty in peach.

I have never played Angry Birds. Perhaps I should, huh? Seems like the entire world is onto that game.

  10. I usually always stick with darker colors in the winter, because I find with the lighter colors, my hands always look SO PALE. LOL :) They get a little washed out.

  11. Hi Emily I dont know if you read these but today is black friday and on QVC the Clarisonic Mia is the TSV. It is always 100.00 to 125.00 dollars and no one I know or myself can afford that so I looked it up cause I am obsessed with this product and want one and I found the Neutrogena Wave Sonic and the Clean and Clear Surge. Could you do a versus review of these two products. I think it would be a good " product for less " review. Thanks so much for what you do. When i was depressed from being unemployed I turned to youtube as an insomniac and my first smile in months came from watching you.

  12. Such a pretty color, but I'm afraid to try it. Any Essie polish I've ever had were very streaky even after a few coats

  14. Nice color :) You've actually inspired me to start doing my nails. I am changing colors every two days. It's not as hard as I thought it was. :D I am currently using metallic colors (ex. Reds, Dark Gray, Gold).
