Follow-Up: A Closer Look at Too Faced Summer Eye

Hello friends! As I check out the comments for my Too Faced Summer Eye Tutorial- I can see that many of you would like to see some swatches of the colors! So here's a closer look...

My 2 cents: pigmentation is great on all of the colors- BUT... Peach Fuzz & Sunbeam (2 larger shades on the lower left side of the palette) are sheer. They both have shimmer, and neither of them show up very much in the picture. It's kind of odd how they gave 2 shades like that, that were so similar in their finishes. However the other light highlight- Sugar Sand- is AWESOME! That whole pink row is great- and the deepest shade in that look- Cocoa Beach is absolutely gorgeous. It's like a mauve/berry/brown... so unique! I have nothing negative to say about the colors or the deep shades in this palette. They're very vivid & easy to work with. Something to keep in mind- there is only one matte shade- Toasted Coconut. It's just a very shimmery, sparkly palette, and if that's not something you're into, you might not like it.

As with many of the Too Faced palettes, this one also comes with little cards that are stored in the lid of the palette. These will give you some ideas on how to wear the shadows. The three looks are labeled "Day", "Classic", and "Fashion".  As you'll see in my tutorial- I combined colors from a couple of the color families...

Thanks for stopping by the blog, and thanks again for the nice feedback about the new look! :) The blog makeover kind of restored my excitement for blogging!

  11. I got this palette and wanted it soo badly. But when I actually wore the looks, the coral color made me look sick and the pink look made me look tired. Guess my fair skin didn't mix well with it. The torquoise wasn't as bright as I'd hoped. I really wanted the palette to work but it didnt. Back to sephora it went...

  13. This is one of those products that I think looks so amazing, but in reality I would never wear the colors. I've been very tempted by it several times in sephora, but I don't think its for me. The tutorial is great, though, and you definitely pull it off!
