Emily Awards 2012: EYES!

Time for part two of the Emily Awards 2012! I've tried a lot of new eye products this year, and I am so excited for you to see my picks. When choosing favorites, color and variety is important, but I also look for products that are easy to use, deliver on their claims, and have good staying power. Repeat winners continue to be tested against new products, so if they continue to come out on top, you know they are something special! This video offers both old favorites, and a lot of great new things. Hope you enjoy it, and look for the Emily Awards for Lips next! :)

*Denotes the number of years a particular product has won.

Emily, please, I've been looking for a sticky eye primer for very dry eyelids so that eyeshadows have something 'tacky' to grab to. Thank you!

I actually didn't enjoy wet n wild's liquid liner too much, I guess the brush is too flimsy too my liking. I prefer the Revlon Colorstay Liquid Liner, the brush is stiff and the texture dries to a nice matte finish. I've had a couple people ask me what brand eyeliner I was using :)

I love the awards though, it's so nice to see which products worked out best for people so others can see what stuff to try! definitely want to try the milani shadow eyez and physician's formula eyeliner trios :)

Thank you, Emily. I value your opinion so much and take my iPad or list into CVS and Walgreens all the time. Seriously, is that sad that I enjoy spending THAT much time on the cosmetics aisle? I just bought my third tube of Almay Get Up and Grow and like you, I love it. Otherwise, I wouldn't have given it a second thought. Thank you!

Try Urban Decay. A little pricey but good sized tube. At Sephora, you might be able to get a sample.

If there is a Nordstrom Rack near you, they usually carry Urban Decay products for less than half off. I buy the big primer potion for only $8.

Yea! Thank you for the Emily awards! Do you know which of the gel liner is safe for the waterline for tight lining the eyes?

Emily I loved the intro! Thank you for suggesting the Wet 'N Wild Liner as it has become a must have in my collection!

If you guys like Emily's blog please check out mine! I love getting inspiration from her :)

Inglot as drugstore? Not sure that I agree with that.

Emily,

I love your Emily Awards and where I agree with some of your awards, however, your listing INGLOT as your Best Overall Drugstore Eyeshadow is incorrect in my opinion. INGLOT is a boutique store or online store. Yes, the shadow palettes are reasonably priced, however it is not truly a drugstore brand because store locations are not easily accessible.

No way...$8!?! I need to run like Forrest to NR!!

I agree! Macy's is starting to carry Inglot but they only sell high end makeup, not drugstore. Just a thought :)

I wouldn't really call Inglot a drugstore brand. I mean, the price is great, and quality is amazing. But it's not easily accessible and I can't just go to my local CVS/Walgreens/Rite Aid to pick up a product. I would call it a high end brand with drugstore prices.

Thank you for this, I really struggle to find new products that are great and work for me, so this really helps!!

Emily I just thought you and your viewers would want to know that they are actually selling Inglot products at select Macys!! I just found out when I was at the mall tonight!

Vero said...

Look forward to these every year! Do you have another drugstore selection for favorite palette? Just checked and the price for the Inglot one you showed and it's $76-- a lot more than any high-end palette I've ever seen!

Hi Emily, do you think you could do some more video tutorials for different color eye looks? For example, you have that great one for a green shadow look using the Mabelline quad and I LOVE it. Just want to see more of that if possible with different colors/brands.

Thanks

What are the colors in your Inglot palette? I'd love to purchase them, since those are also my favorite colors to wear. Thanks! :)

Hi Emily, after years of watching your vids and ignoring everytime you recommended almay mascara, I finally tried it. U were right once again, the best mascara product I've ever tried and makes me look like I have lashes twice the size. Thank you for taking your time to recommend amazing products more than once because I am one of your viewers that sometimes can be stubborn and needs to be reminded of those products worth buying. You've saved me soo much time and money and I will forever be a devoted viewer.

Having that said, it only proves that those products that you could buy in pharmacy or drugstore are safe to use and are recommended. I also often buy my make up stuff on those cause I don't know, I'm just used to buying those in there.
