Easter Weekend!


Hi everyone!
I hope you've all had a great week! :) I have some more throw-back pics for you- my mom and dad have been sending some my way. I don't know exactly how old I am here, but I know pig tails were a common hairdo for me as a kid! Looks like I'm all done up for church. And oh the memories of that inflatable rabbit (sitting beside me) that would always come out on Easter! Mom would also hide eggs filled with candy all over the house. How fun!


And this isn't exactly the Easter bunny, but it is a rabbit! It's Bugs from a trip to Six Flags St. Louis- I believe I was in second grade :) I also remembered riding the rickety old Screaming Eagle rollercoaster with my dad and being scared to death. I thought I was going to fly out of my seat. I haven't gone on a big rollercoaster since!

Do you have any special childhood Easter memories or traditions? The last time I did a throw-back post (me putting makeup on my dad as a kid), I loved reading your first makeup memories in the comments section. That was very entertaining!   1. I have been reading you blog and watching your videos for about six months now...and I love them! I am from southern Illinois too, about thirty minutes from you. I used to watch you on yhe news every morning while getting ready for work (and yes I cried during your farewell episode). I just wanted tosay thank you for always being so positive and happy. I strive to be more like that everyday. Keep up the great work. And if you ever feel the need to help someone learn how to better do their makeup...I'm game since I'm so close. I would love it!

  6. Love your throwback posts! My most memorable Easter was when I got chicken pox and I was really sad because I had to miss the Easter egg hunt at my church. My sister brought me back some candy though :). Happy Easter Emily!!

  8. I remember every Easter we would use food dye or some kind of dye to put a design or drawing for the eggs.Love that!Also,we would dress up for church in our Easter outfits,and have a easter speech ptrpared to say in front of every members of the church.
    Also,we would have a easter basket at home,but also have our church version of Easter basket as well.It was just a bag full of candy with a Easter egg in it.I loved coming home from church service and we have a Easter dinner waiting for us.Oh!I like the Easter Pics.....They are really cute!Have Nice Easter,as well!

  10. Hi Emily, I always enjoy watching your videos and after reading your Easter stories, I just wanted to share about a little about my Easter memories. I was born and raised in Hungary, and immigrated to the United States about 10 years after I married my husband who is from Texas. In Hungary we have very different and unique Easter traditions. Easter egg decorating is one old tradition, and the other is "sprinkling" which is when men and boys spray women and girls on their hair with perfume. Easter-related celebrations take place for about three days in Hungary from Good Friday until the following Monday which is when the sprinkling takes place. I remember when I was a little girl I used to count how by how many man and boys I got sprinkled on Easter Monday, and at one time it was over 110 times. Can you imagine the smell of my hair by the end of that day? It took me days to get rid of the smell. LOl Anyways, I don’t want to bore you any longer. Really quick tip that worked for me- I don't know if you have these mascaras, and I didn't care for themselves much by themselves, but if you put on one coat of the Maybelline Plush mascara then a coat of the maybelline falsies flared, my lashes looked crazy thick and long! Worth a shot if you have them!
