Face of the Day: Warm Sunset

Hey everyone!
It's a cold, windy, snowy day here... so I decided to take my makeup in the opposite direction and go with a really warm theme. I did the eyes kind of shimmery & glowy, but the face has a pretty matte finish overall. Here's what I used!

Face...
-Revlon Colorstay Whipped Creme Makeup in Warm Golden
-Cover Girl + Olay Concealer Balm in Fair/Light
-Bare Minerals Well Rested (to set concealer)
-MAC Blot Powder in Medium Dark
-Revlon PhotoReady Bronzer (contouring)
-The Balm Cabana Boy Blush

The eyes were a lot of fun! It just makes me think of a pretty sunset. It's also kind of that "peek-a-boo" effect with the colors because it's not so dramatic that much of the colors show when your eyes are open, but when you look down, the "sunset" is revealed.
It also wasn't hard to do at all!

Eyes...
-Milani Eyeshadow Primer
-Coastal Scents Forever Natural Palette (Rediscovered product in my collection- LOVING it. I used the  4 shades across the top and the dark brown. I started with the really light gold in the upper left, and used that in the inner corner and under the brow- then blended to the medium gold, then to the bright metallic gold. The wine color has a nice matte finish (maybe just a bit of sparkle in there, but overall matte)- and I blended that in the outer corner and crease. I used a bit of the dark brown in the outer corner and under the eye, along with some of the wine color.
-Rimmel ScandalEyes in Nude (on my waterline)
-Milani Liquid Eye Pencil in Brown (on upper lashline)
-L'oreal Double Extend Mascara (upper lashes)
-Maybelline Lash Discovery Mascara (lower lashes)

 Lips...
-NYC Appliecious Glossy Lip Balm in Apple Plum Pie
-Revlon Super Lustrous Lip Gloss in Life's a Peach (not sure if this was limited edition?)

Daily Nuggets...
  • Did lots of editing on my next video (coming tomorrow)- it's about false lashes so lots of little processes to show. Tyler actually helped shoot some of it last night!
  • Justified tonight woop woop!!
  • You know those Zoo Pals paper plates that are shaped like animal faces? Just ate my lunch on one. It was a lion.
  • How could I forget? I finished that crazy 504 piece puzzle last night! I believe it was responsible for causing a headache but I was determined to get it done. As I told the girls on the Beauty Broadcast Community chat last night- I'm sure you've really been wondering about my progress- LOL!

  2. Love the look!! I've been meaning to do a puzzle but every time I try picking one up at Target I just can't justify why I'm buying one. DO you save them and frame them or just take them apart when you are done and put them back in the box?

  3. That is an awesome palette!!! I have so many Coastal Scent palettes so one more wouldn't hurt, right? HAHAHA I checked the website, and it turns out they have a chart with the names of the eyeshadows that you used. Here is the link, in case you want to include the chart and shade names. Up to you, but here it is!

  8. I love the Coastal Scents Forever Natural Palette! I use a stiff smudge brush, dip it into the blue and add a bit of the shadow along the outer corner of my lash line .. looks cool.

  9. Hi Emily, one quick question. Would you say the Cover Girl Whipped in Warm Golden is a good match for you? I want to buy it but the shades look so similar through the package, just trying to get a sense of the shades and which one might be right for me. Thanks! Love you!
