Classic Neutral Eyes with Wet n Wild Comfort Zone

Hello friends!
Do you ever forget how much you love a particular makeup product?
Today I was using Wet n Wild's Comfort Zone palette as I was getting ready for Beauty Broadcast Live, and I feel like I fell in love with it all over again. I was saying on the live show that I normally think of this as a green palette and forget that the other half is filled with equally gorgeous neutral shades. I used my go-to shadow application format with this look. I'll share the details in a minute- first let's talk about what's on the face!

Face products...
-Too Faced Air Buffed BB Creme (Cream Glow) - dislike! Claims to be "complete coverage"... it's not.
-Revlon Colorstay Concealer (Light)
-Bare Minerals Well Rested (to set concealer & brighten undereyes)
-Makeup For Ever Pro Finish Powder (128 Neutral Sand)
-Essence Sun Club Matte Bronzer (Sunny)
-The Balm Instain Blush (Houndstooth) -review is coming!

Eye Products...
-Sigma Eyeshadow Base (Persuade)
-Wet n Wild Color Icon Palette (Comfort Zone)
-Milani Ultrafine Liquid Liner (Black Vinyl) - upper lashline
-Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Pencil (Zero) - waterline
-L'oreal Telescopic Carbon Black Mascara - upper lashes
-Maybelline Lash Discovery Mascara - lower lashes
-Salon Perfect Demi Wispies False Eyelashes - not pictured
-Anastasia Beauty Express for Brows & Eyes (Brunette) - not pictured

How I got the look...
-Prime the eyes with Sigma eyeshadow base
(all shadows I'm referring to in the Wet n Wild palette are from the left side)
-Apply the Browbone shade under the brow and around inner corner
-Apply Eyelid shade all over the lid
-Apply the dark brown Definer shade on the outer corner of the eye, lightly in the crease, and smudge it on the lower lashline
-Apply the medium brown Crease shade just above the crease to soften the look and add some warmth
-Extend liquid liner just past the lashline
-Apply black pencil to waterline
-Click here for my tutorial on false eyelashes

Lip Products...
-Too Faced La Creme Lipstick (Nude Beach)
-NYX Mega Shine Lip Gloss (Crystal Soda)

Hope you enjoyed the look! This is definitely my go-to shadow format, and I enjoy it because of the way it frames my eye and give it a bit of a lift. All of these shades have some shimmer, and normally I might try to throw a deep matte shade in the crease, but I actually think all of these colors blend really well without looking "muddy". The Wet n Wild shadows are so rich and soft, and I love how it only takes a little bit to get the look you're after. The lashes are definitely key also. I love the thickness that the Demi Wispies give!

Daily Nuggets...
  • Had a great time during Beauty Broadcast Live today! Topics included makeup, wine, youtube advice, IMATS, bunions (did I really draw my foot? yes, I did.) #funtabulous
  • Speaking of IMATS, my vlog is coming later today!
  • I need to clean the kitchen. boo!
  • Got to fall asleep last night to the sound of rain. Love that!
  • Currently listening to: Justin Timberlake- Mirrors. Nuts about this song!!

  2. What a pretty look. I have the comfort zone palette, but sometimes all those shades are a bit overwhelming and it is nice to have an example of how to put them together. Looks great!

  6. Today was the first morning that I was actually able to catch Beauty Broadcast Live and it was so wonderful to drink my coffee and "hang out" with you all morning! I really enjoy your videos and all-around personality -- I am also from Illinois and I find that I relate most to you for that reason maybe. Is that weird? :)

I'm so happy that you posted this Comfort Zone look. I keep dragging that palette out of storage and wanting to use it and feeling disappointed whenever I do, but I feel like maybe I'm just not doing it right. This post and how gorgeous it looked on you today has totally re-inspired me to try it again! Thanks!

  8. Funny, I pulled this palette out this morning and wondered why I didn't use it more. So I did. I had forgotten how pigmented the shadows are! Love it though and love the look you created.

  12. Thanks for posting the look. I like what you did and I loved this palette too when I bought it and it's just been tucked away as I focus on my high end palettes and forget about the great Wet N Wild shadows I have. Speaking of high end, you were the one who got me into The Balm with the Meet Matte Nude and I'm pumped b/c they had a 50% off sale a couple of days ago and I got the Nudetude & Balm Jovi since you showcased those as well. Thanks for all your awesome suggestions and being so sweet to watch!!

  14. That's so weird! I rediscovered my Comfort Zone palette yesterday too! It kind of got tucked into a corner of my train case, so it was getting very neglected. It is such a great palette!

  22. You look beautiful, as always! Finally gave me the nudge to buy this palette! Usually, I have limited color on my eyes to a liner as I have deep set eyes, but this will help me to branch out a bit. Now if only I could master the winged liner. Thank you Emily, Tyler and Cupcake. You are a joy to many.

  25. I love the look! I recently tried the Too Faced Air Buffed BB Creme and I hated it. It was the oddest combination of clinging to the dry spots on my skin and feeling heavy and oily without really giving coverage. I ended up returning it to Sephora since it was a pricier product and it just didn't seem to work.
