Shop My Stash! And Signs You're Obsessed...

Greetings blog buddies!! :)
Happy Friday to you! In an effort to get more use out of the various things in my makeup collection, I thought I'd "Shop My Stash" today and pull out some forgotten or rarely used items. It's a great way to make old things feel new again... plus it doesn't cost you anything! So here are the things I threw in my basket.

Face products...
-ELF Maximum Coverage Concealer in Sand... I've used this product on & off, but not enough to form a solid opinion on how well it works. So I aim to change that in the coming week!
-Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Dark Spot Eraser... I blame my drawer. It swallowed this one up and I totally forgot about it. Out of sight, out of mind, I guess. I need to use this consistently so I can tell if it's truly treating and improving dark spots.
-Milani Bronze XL All Over Glow in Radiant Tan... This is a fairly new product that was sent to me for review and I want to remember to use it. If you look closely, you can tell this is a split pan compact- so there are 2 shades of bronzer in there. Both have just a little shimmer and are pretty light.
-ELF Contouring Blush & Bronzing Cream in St. Lucia... LOVE this product! Especially with my ELF Small Stipple Brush! I just tend to reach for the powder version more (I think I've gone through 2 of them), but I need to be using this too.

Eye Products...
-NYX Nude on Nude Palette... I guess this is technically a lip product too :) But look at how pretty those neutrals are! Why am I not reaching for this more?!?
-Milani Powder Eyeshadow in Just Perfect... These Milani singles are AMAZING. I have a full video review on them. They're big, intensely pigmented, and this shade is a stunning teal. Might be a fun pop alongside some of those NYX neutrals.

Lip Products...
-L'oreal Colour Riche Le Gloss in Saucy Mauve (left) & Raspberry Splash (right)... I really love these glosses and don't know why I haven't used them in so long. Clearly I've used them enough to wear off the labels, and they're probably not too far off from being used up. Both shades are lovely and they feel super comfortable on the lips. They are just a squeeze-tube style. Really great drugstore glosses!
-NYX Round Lipstick in Tea Rose... I have more than a few Round lipsticks I should be using, but this one just really caught my eye. It's a nice creamy rose that doesn't stray too far from my natural lip color.

Do you like to shop your stash? Let me know if you'd like to see more posts like this! And maybe on the next Beauty Broadcast Live I can re-cap how these things have been working.

Something new! Each Friday on Twitter & Facebook I'm going to ask a "Fill in the Blank" question. Today's was: You know you're obsessed with makeup when...
@albeefranson 's makeup-filled pantry! LOVE.

Thank to the hundreds who made Tweets and Facebook posts filling in the blank! I was literally laughing out loud and nodding in agreement with your feedback! Hey, at least we can all admit that we have a problem, right? :) Have a great weekend!

Daily Nuggets...
  • New Stuff I Love video is up on the vlog channel!
  • Spent a very long time browsing the MaskCara beauty blog last night- love it!
  • I want to see The Great Gatsby this weekend.
  • Was driving through a parking lot with my window down and an elderly lady nearby yelled "watch out!" at me. I wasn't going fast or remotely close to hitting her or anything else... still confused. Guess I'll take her warning and just "watch out" in general.
  • I can't stand when people eat with their mouth open or make a smacking noise with their mouth when they eat... but somehow when Cupcake makes that noise, I think it's cute.
  • It's thundering out. You guessed it-- the Cake is on alert!

  1. Haha I love that someone mentioned pretending to be filming a tutorial when putting makeup glad to know I am not alone on that one haha. Love this post!

  2. I put myself on a makeup no-buy so I've been "shopping my stash" as well this month! I'm currently revisiting my Wet N Wild Color Icon palettes as per your breaking out Comfort Zone. It's unbelieveable to me how I forget how much I love these!

  3. I literally had to drag myself away from the makeup section at my local drugstore today. I am totally addicted to buying makeup - so I am trying to shop my stash and appreciate the things I already have.

  4. When I purchase product I already own!!!

  5. Thank you for this post; I'm trying to shop my own stash more, too! And some of those responses were great; I loved the one about your husband commenting on other women's makeup. Mine does that, too!!

  6. Thanks for sharing some of the Tweets & Facebook replies! Hilarious! I really enjoyed reading them. Unfortunately, I don't have either one of those accounts. Probably the last person on earth...

  7. I went on a crazy rampage last night and fixed up with makeup storage, I now have a whole drawer dedicated to things I am using up and things I found while "shopping my stash." Loved the comments from facebook and twitter, can relate 100%!!!!

  8. Oh this is really such a good idea. Even though my makeup collection isn't huge (though my friend's would disagree) I still have things I forget about and never reach for. I'm going to make it a goal to do this this coming week.
Also, I'm so excited for The Great Gatsby too! Tell us what you think!

  9. Those comments were hilarious! And I have the NYX lip gloss in Tea's one of my favs since it's a nice creamy pink color. I wonder if it's the same shade as the lipstick.

  10. Please do a couple looks on the Nude on Nude Nyx palette!

  11. I have determined that every Friday is "new product Friday". I use the same products every day because I loooove to finish them. But for the eyes, for example, I can try my best to try a new color or a new eye shadow every Friday. =)

  12. I love shopping my stash! I usually make a weekly makeup basket so I can cycle in things I love but forgotten about or things that I need to use up. It also makes it a lot easier for me to get ready in the morning!

I keep debating on getting that NYX palette. It just looks so gorgeous!

I know I would definitely love to see more posts like this. It's fun to see what other people have put on the back burner, it really allows people to see a variety of items as well.

  13. More like this please! I usually end up tossing out products that I don't like/use. I guess I'll hold on to them with hopes of giving them another shot.

  14. Since I have been watching your videos. I can feel myself turning into a makeup addict with each video I watch. I have purchased more makeup last week than I have ever purchased in my whole life of wearing makeup. But to be honest I hardly had any makeup to begin with so I don't feel guilty. Just today I was so giddy to get my ELF haul in the fiance said I was acting like a kid in a candy store!

  15. I heard that the NYX palette is a dupe for both Urban Decay Nakeds. Would love to know if its true!

  16. You've inspired me to shop my stash. My make-up collection is not as extensive as yours, however I have many single loose mineral eye shadows (specifically Bare Minerals). I always reach for the same colors day after day...and I am normally in warm neutrals. I am finding that I like Matte colors best lately and have been struggling to find warm, nude matte colors. I went into my drawers and drawers if shadows and pulled out the matte colors and plan on putting them to work for me! Thank you so much for saving me money by encouraging me to shop my stash!

  17. Oh my goodness Arricka that's just me right now! Just got a haul of elf products today for mothers day and was so giddy! I'm in love with your videos emilynoel! I used to have lots of makeup, but put in backburner after becoming a mom with my first two, but now thanks to miss emilynoel i'm returning to my first hobby! Buying and using makeup ;)

  18. Hey! I'm from Portugal and I totally love your videos and your blog. You're great. :) And by the way I love this idea of rediscovering old products. :)*

  19. This is actually a great idea- putting a few things in a basket for the coming week. My stash is big enough that I just might try this! I would love to see more posts like this, thanks!!!

  21. While i dont think my stash is that big my family and boyfriend would love to say otherwise. I have enough to go shopping through it anyways. Pulled out some things i havent really used. NYX eye pencil in purple, NYX water proof eye liner in aqua green, Rimmel exaggerate eye definer in purple shock (which comes off very magenta berry pink so i tried it as a lip liner today lol), NYX jumbo eye pencil in milk (still trying to get this to work for me), ELF golden bronzer, Hard Candy bronzer stick in Maui, BareMinerals matte foundation, and Urban Decay palette the biodegradable? One.
