Travel-Size Must Haves!

Hi everyone!!
What an amazing weekend!!! I've been working on a video recapping my meet & greet at the Sigma beauty store in the Mall of America-- it'll be coming once I get all of the pictures compiled! :) I just want to say THANK YOU to all who came- I think RSVP's were around 500?! And some people drove/flew a long way to be there... seriously amazing and I am so honored, and still kind of in shock. Be on the lookout for more on the event in the coming days! :) Oh, and I'll have a Mall of America haul as well! (Isn't that mandatory? :)

Meanwhile, I thought I'd do a little post on some of the things that helped me out on the trip! I love handy travel-sized items... obviously they save space when you travel, but a lot of these are good "just in case" items to have in your purse! This isn't the extent of everything I took for the trip, but just some key items that are especially handy!

Beauty-Related Must Haves!
  • Goody Mini Brush... I've had this for a long time. It's always in my purse for on-the-go use!
  • TRESemme Tres Two Hairspray (Level 4)... My favorite hairspray, just in a mini-can!
  • Urban Decay De-Slick Setting Spray... I have really been enjoying this setting spray! Freshens up the look and improves staying power... great little size!
  • Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs Leg Makeup in Tan... (put in a travel bottle) This new lotion form of this product is outstanding!! It does not transfer and makes legs look perfect. Easy to blend out. With the old kind in the can, I had to add body lotion to dilute it... this is the perfect consistency.
  • ELF Studio Daily Moisture Stick... I have a whole video explaining why this is so great for taking away the look of dry under-eyes!! But it's so great for air travel because I feel like my skin gets extra dry. Use it anywhere!
  • Benefit POREfessional Primer... As a whole, I feel like the Benefit brand can be a little hit & miss for me, but something I love is that they make so many products available in little sizes. That's great if you want to experiment, and also great for travel. This little size of POREfessional didn't take up much room at all in my bag!
  • Fragrance Samples... I always save little perfume samples in a basket and lately I've just been grabbing a couple when I travel- so easy and small!

Random Must Haves
  • Mini Lint Roller... If you have a pet, you know the joys of a lint roller! I just keep one in my suitcase at all times.
  • Tide To-Go Mini Pen... We all spill sometimes!
  • Hand Sanitizer... I usually have the kind from Bath & Body Works. Planes are loaded with germs so this is always in my purse.
  • Band Aids... For those shoes you just haven't quite broken in yet :)
  • Hotel minis... I love when hotels give you little things like q-tips and nail files... they are great to keep in your purse and take up minimal space!
Hopefully that gives you a few ideas if you're traveling this summer! What are the mini things that you wouldn't be without? Let me know!

Daily Nuggets...
  • Just had my favorite salad from Wendy's - Apple Pecan Chicken salad. A half size is really quite filling. And it's so flavorful!
  • New video just went up! It's a haul from a handful of different places!! I also prove why I need help at the MAC counter!! lol.
  • I still need to unpack my suitcase. I dislike both packing and unpacking.
  • Cupcake wants me to play with her- she's been following me around all day! Missed her momma.

  2. Great suggestions! A lint roller is a total must for pet owners! I like bringing sample sizes of mascara with me on trips. And I bring a dry shampoo bar from Lush (So easy and no spills!) oh, and I'm looking forward to the MOA haul! So excited to see what goodies you found! Ps- My favorite is the apple pecan chicken salad, too! YUM!!

  3. I'm obsessed with mini's. Sephora and Ulta really get you good as you walk to the cash wrap. If you have a larger Bed Bath and Beyond near you with a drugstore beauty section, their travel size selection rocks.

p.s. Our family dog (maltese) will give us the silent treatment when we come back from vacation. So weird. haha. I've always loved your 'daily nuggets'

  4. Thank-you again for the meetup at Sigma, it was truly amazing to have met you and chat a bit. I am still in shock that I actually got to meet/hug you. Definitely a favorite moment of my whole life. You are such a wonderful, sweet, down to earth, incredible person!
I love this list, but I would also add a mini dry shampoo.
Good luck with the unpacking, thats always the un-fun part.
    LOVE YOU!!!!

  7. Love all your recommendations and I agree with you about 90% of the time. I bought the Tresemme hairspray and thought it offered great hold until I realized how much it makes my hair smell bad so I threw it out yesterday. I love their travel size and the price is great but I had to go back to an old favorite.

  9. Hey Emily! This was so helpful! I know there are times when I know I'm going to be traveling and I just can't seem to gather my things together; I've even had nightmares about it! :) Wonderful post, hope you have a wonderful evening!

    1. Making a list of all Ur daily essentials helps tremendously. You can also check out a drugstore (such as CVS Walmart) mini travel section and see what u would need. Ziplock or any resealable bag (such as large cotton ball bags) are useful for shampoo bottles & the like. Lable if the bags aren't see thru. Hope this can make things a bit easier!

  10. Great tips! I always keep the Band Aid Friction Block stick in my purse for shoes I haven't broken in. If you haven't tried it yet, you should! It looks like a tiny stick of deodorant and you just rub it on your feet where your shoes are rubbing and it prevents blisters. It's great!

  11. Could you do a review or demo on the sally hansen leg makeup?

  12. OH MY GOSH, I TOTALLY AGREE ABOUT THE LINT ROLLER! I go through so many sheets just cleaning up my dog's black fur off my bed!

I definitely agree about the fragrance samples--I've been caught way too many times in an uncomfortable situation where I need a bit of spritz to freshen up. ._.

Bobby pins and extra hair ties are also very nice to have in travel essentials :>

  13. I also have a bunch of random small-sized products in my purse "just in case."

Also, I have the same Angry Birds band-aids! lol.

  14. I have had bandaids, mini perfume, and q tips in my bag for years! I was a hostess when i was 15 & about 30 mins from home and these were really handy. I would usually get little cuts re-injured if they weren't covered lol.
All these are super great for travel! I would like to suggest a Leave in Conditioner like It's A 10. I have long hair and it helps so much :)

  21. I agree with everything on your list for travel, and I would also add bobby pins and hair ties to the group. P.S. Those bandaids look suspiciously like the Angry Bird ones I have on my cabinet. Hate them! :) They last on my kids for about 2 seconds!

  24. Aw I wish I could have gone to the meet and greet! It would have been amazing to meet you! But maybe next time.

I should get a mini of the De-Slick setting spray. It's awesome! It's a staple in my make up routine.

  31. Emily you should try Monistat Chafing Powder Gel or Dr. Scholl's silicone stick in the foot care section. They are both silicone based products that are great to have around for painful shoes. They provide a layer between you and your shoes, no rubbing or blisters plus the Monistat chafing gel can double as a super economical face primer!

  32. Comparing notes: I also have face wipes, bug spray, and a high SPF sunblock for the face that I use all over. Helps to have a big purse :)
