A Little Hard Candy Makeup Haul!

Hi everyone!
Have you checked out the makeup aisles of Wal-Mart lately? Clearly that's what I've been doing! And I couldn't help but notice that there are quite a few new Hard Candy products out! In my store, the whole section has expanded somewhat to accommodate the new products. Let's take a look at what I picked up...
I've been eying these Hard Candy nail polishes for quite some time, and fought the urge to get one... until I saw this shade. It's #637 Lil Lilac and I think it's just the prettiest shade! It's the most beautiful blend of pink and purple with a golden sparkle. I just recently got this so I haven't tried it out on my nails yet... but if it looks anything like it does in the bottle- it's going to be awesome!
I know the Hard Candy baked blushes have been around for awhile (I'm a huge fan of the shade called "Living Doll"), but my Wal-Mart is notoriously out of Hard Candy blushes, or they're busted beyond recognition (I think all baked products need a "handle with care" label). Anyway, since my Wal-Mart's recent Hard Candy section makeover- I was able to spot this blush that I'd never seen before! The shade is Honeymoon and it just looks gorgeous! It's kind of a warm pink shimmer... definitely the kind of blush you could wear and skip the highlight. Excited to see how this looks on the skin. It's pretty light, so I'm wondering how much it'll show up. I'll report back.
Ok, this is definitely something new! It's the All Lid Up cream eyeshadow in Fancy Pants. I'll admit, I was swayed to pick up this shade because of the awesome name :) Also, it's one of those classic champagne shimmers that you just can't have enough of. These kinds of shades make a great base to any shimmery eye look. But I am SO EXCITED to report that the swatch you see there on my hand WILL NOT BUDGE. This cream shadow sets to a totally budge-free state! I'll make sure to use it on my eyes to confirm... but I'm thinking this is the kind of cream shadow you could wear alone and not have to top it with a powder shadow. Very much like the Maybelline Color Tattoos. And there were so many shades! Texture-wise, it reminds me a little bit of the Dream Bouncy blushes... you can really press your finger into the product. I also appreciate that there's an extra little stopper that comes on top of the shadow to keep it from drying out. Thumbs up Hard Candy!!
Hard candy also has some new baked eyeshadow quads called Mod Quads... I was highly intrigued since I'm a big fan of their baked duos. The packaging on these is so cute- it has sort of a textured fabric python print on the compact. The first quad I picked up was this neutral set in Brownie Points. Baked eyeshadows can be worn wet or dry. Something I loved about Hard Candy's baked duos was that they looked totally amazing as-is... you didn't have to wear them wet to make them show up. These don't seem to be quite as good as the original baked duos. They seem slightly more dry, and all the shades are super shimmery, if not downright sparkly with some glitter. I've worn this Brownie Points quad dry, but on top of a primer (of course), and loved the look. Here are some swatches...
The top picture is the dry swatches (no primer underneath), and the bottom picture is the wet swatches. FYI: to apply the shadows wet, I just get a little water on my hand (I have a mini spray bottle of it handy), dip my brush or sponge tip into the water, and then into the shadow. As is the case with most baked shadows- they look super metallic when worn wet. So overall, I liked this quad- which led to my next purchase...
This is the Mod Quad in Pink Interlude. It's coming off a bit purple in this picture... I don't know what that's about! I haven't worn this on the lids yet, but here are my preliminary swatches...
The top picture is dry (no primer) and the bottom picture is wet. You are probably looking at the top pic and thinking... not impressed! I must say- while the shades were more sutble, they did have more dimension in person and they actually had some really interesting sparkle. However in the wet swatches- they are downright gorgeous. Champagne, gold, rose gold, burgundy... love it. Can't wait to see how these look on the lids!

  10. I have the lil Lilac nailpolish and it's just perfect - it's a snappier kind of low-key polish and it wears like a dream. I have a ton of nailpolish and it's one of the few I've used up.

  14. see you in the morning!! you really need to try the covergirl duoblast lipsticks, I know I usually don't like CG lipsticks but OMG, the staying power is amazing,I got the one called flashy and it has a beautiful pink on one end and a gorgeous plum color on other end, you can wear each seperate or mix together and you get a beautiful fall berry color that last forever

  17. I love Hard Candy. I've been let down by so few of their products. I was wondering if anyone noticed the amazing cream shadow. I have heard so little elsewhere about them. Second favorite product is their nail polish. Original and great quality.

  22. I always get really excited when I see anything Hard Candy related as they are not that easily available in the North of England (and Ebay is not my favourite source of beauty products....). Being completely addicted to all things nude & shimmery, I absolutely love how those two baked eyeshadow quads swatch and the cream eyeshadow looks fantastic as well!

  28. Please make sure to report back on all of the items you mentioned in this post! I am also a huge fab of their baked blushes so I'm going to go on the hunt for this one you purchased! I would really love to hear about the cream shadow as well! I'm a huge fan on rushed mornings- Smashbox 15 Hour Cream Shadows are the ONLY ones on the market that actually stay put on my oily eyelids- yes, I've not even Maybelline Color Tattoos nor the Makeup Forever Cream shadows will last more than 2 hours without all creasing up. So I am always on the hunt for a cream shadow that STAYS PUT without a primer and/or powder to set. Thank you Emily! Xoxo
