Wet n Wild "Be a Runway Beauty" Trios
During a random Walgreens visit I noticed some new Wet n Wild trios! From Pop Art Craze to the Tough Girl collection, it seems like there have been lots of new trios coming out, so I was really surprised to stumble across these. The shades are somewhat muted- definitely giving off a fall vibe. I assume that these are limited edition, but I'm not 100% sure.
This display was at the end of an aisle- and it says "Fall 2013 Be a Runway Beauty". While the display holds several trios that I already know and love- there are also three new ones for $2.99 each. Of course, I had to buy them and show them to you! This post is primarily for swatching purposes (no primer underneath)... I've only worn one of these trios so far, which I'll get to at the end.

This trio contains a pinky-beige, a coral/red, and a shimmery charcoal. The reddish color really interests me and I like that there's a nice deep color in there to help anchor the look. I think I'll have fun with this trio, and can't wait to give it a try! The pigmentation in this trio seems to be pretty much what I'm used to from Wet n Wild's Color Icon shadows.
Loving the look of this trio! It has a shimmery silver, a pearly-but-not-too-shimmery plum, and a matte deep blue. I love working with dark blues and plums on my eyes, so I think this is going to be a great trio for a night out. The matte blue seems to be the most richly pigmented, and the others aren't bad by any means, but in these swatches I had to build them up a bit more.
This trio has a matte khaki color, a shimmery peach, and a deep navy with sparkle. The khaki feels very smooth and buttery and has nice payoff... the peach and blue weren't quite as rich as I was expecting. The blue is similar to one of the blues in the Blue Had Me at Hello 8-pan palette. Granted, I haven't used the other two yet, but the first two color combinations appeal to me more... this trio came off decent on the eyes, but not my favorite look by any means. The blue and the orange side-by-side come off a bit muddy. Also- I wish there was a shade light enough to really be a brow highlight in this kit- the shade labeled "browbone" is pretty dark- so I had to bring in another color for that job.
I first applied an eye primer, then used peach on the inner part of the lid, and navy on the outer part. I also blended a bit of the navy into the crease. I used both the peach and the khaki to further blend out the edges of the crease color, going slightly up onto the brow bone. I used Milani's French Vanilla as a highlight under the brow. For liner- I used Rimmel ScandalEyes in Deep Blue on my upper lashline, Rimmel ScandalEyes in Nude in the lower waterline, and some of the blue shadow smudged under that. For mascara I'm wearing Almay One Coat Triple Effect, and on my lips I've combined two shades of the new Laura Geller Creme Sheers - Rich Pomegranate and Pink Guava.
Just wanted to give you a heads up on those trios, in case any of them interest you! I'm excited to try the other two trios and will either do a FOTD post on here or an Instagram pic when I do! Thanks so much for taking time to read my blog! :)
