Halloween Party Costume Recap!
Hope you're having a good Monday! Tyler and I had such a fun weekend visiting our friends Kalee and Jonathan in Kansas City! As you may know, Kalee recently took over as morning meteorologist at KSHB in Kansas City, so this was our first time visiting them! When Kalee told me about an epic halloween party that was happening at chief meteorologist Gary Lezak's house- we knew we needed to make this happen! In the weeks leading up to the party, we brainstormed some costume ideas for the four of us, and settled on Gilligan's Island! Oh- and to all who asked- "Is Tyler super tall or are you super short?"... the answer is both! He's 6'6", and I'm 5'0". Kalee is actually a bit shorter than me! Jonathan is the one person in the picture of normal height! LOL! :)
Tyler was Skipper and Jonathan was Gilligan (I'm guessing they saw this pose in a Google image search?) I'm pretty sure they already had everything they needed for their outfits, but they did have to go out and find some hats. I love how Tyler's hat almost looks miniature on his head! LOL! And Jonathan makes an awesome Gilligan, doesn't he?! Love it!
A lot of these pics came from Instagram! Click here to follow me.
For the ladies- I was Mary Ann and Kalee was Ginger! Here you can see our before and after transformation! We both ordered our outfits on Amazon... they came with wigs but the Mary Ann wig was pretty similar to my own hair (except for some super long bangs that would've been in my eyes all night!) so I decided not to use it. The Ginger wig, however, was perfect on Kalee! I wasn't sure what shoes to wear at first, but we found these red flats at Target earlier that day and they worked great.
We went with some really glamorous makeup on Kalee! I wish I would've gotten a clearer shot of her look (the one close-up on my phone is in really dim lighting), but you can kind of get the idea. I used some of the metallic golden shades in the LORAC Pro palette on her eyes, and added some thick winged liner- topped off with Salon Perfect Demi Wispies false lashes. For lips, she's wearing Urban Decay lipstick in Manic (a berry/red shade). Isn't she adorable!
For Mary Ann's makeup, I basically went with my usual face routine (foundation, concealer, powder), but I added a lot more bronzer than usual (she was very tan in every picture I saw!) I kept my eyeshadow very simple- just some basic neutrals- but busted out my Red Cherry #43 false lashes. To make the eyes appear larger and more round, I used a white liner in my lower inner rim, and just barely lined the lower lashline with some brown shadow. The lips are a light nude/pink- Sonia Kashuk's Shine Luxe Sheer lip color in Sheer Pink Lust (LOVE this shade).
Kalee and I stocked up on extra decorations that day, and got to Gary's early to put them up (which was really fun!) and then the party got started! There were SO MANY cool costumes there- I wish I had taken more pictures! Our friend Mel was a fierce flapper- she just looks perfect! And don't you love the #halloweencostume?! Gary was Julius Caesar... and I gotta say- that guy is absolutely hilarious! To all who live in Kansas City and get to watch him and Kalee do the weather-- you are lucky! :)
It was also Stormy the Weather Dog's birthday!! There was even a video tribute to Stormy, which I loved. Stormy and Gary's other dog Breezy also showed off some pretty cool tricks. My heart just melts when I see people get super excited about their pets. They really are part of the family!
Thanks to Kalee and Jonathan for having us over for the weekend! It was an absolute blast and I can't wait to get together again! Love you!! ♥
