Sonia Kashuk Shine Luxe Sheer Lip Colour

Hey everyone!
As I've mentioned in several recent videos and posts- I absolutely love Sonia Kashuk's Shine Luxe Sheer Lip Colors! I started with one, and then the ball got rolling and I've picked up several new colors since. These are $10.99 each at Target. I feel like these are a total hybrid between lip gloss and lipstick. They are so shiny, yet they have great color intensity and they just feel so moisturizing on the lips! I think they're more shiny and a bit thicker in texture than Revlon Lip Butters (which I also love). I also feel like they tend to fill in the little lines in my lips, making them appear more plump! These are not a long-wearing lip product, so if you're going out, plan to take your Shine Luxe Sheer with you for touch-ups. Still- they're just amazing. So I figured I'd give you an update on all the shades I have, in case you're interested in trying these for yourself!
Sheer Pink Lust
This was the one that got me addicted! To me, this shade is the definition of "pinky nude". Over the past couple of months, if I've needed to wear a nude lip, this shade is my go-to. I know "sheer" is in the name, but I feel like it's actually pretty full-coverage on my lips. I can't see my own lip color through it at all. Good stuff!!
Sheer Seashell
Shine Luxe Sheer in Sheer Seashell... say that 5 times fast! While the first shade has more of a pinky tone, this one is definitely more golden. It also has a subtle golden sparkle in it, which isn't super visible once the product is on my lips. I don't reach for this shade quite as much as Sheer Pink Lust, but I still think it's super pretty.
Sheer Fuchsia
Here's one for the pink lovers! While I feel like every other shade I have seems to VERY closely mimic the color in the stick (what you see is what you get), this one actually does seem more sheer than what I was expecting. It still has fabulous shine, and I still love the color that I get on my lips. I think this mid-toned pink would work well on a lot of different skin tones.
 Sheer Plum
Here's the classic fall lip color! I'm in LOVE. I love that this shade is deep, but not too deep for everyday wear. It's everything I want a plum lip color to be... just a hint of purple tone in it, but not too much at all. Did I mention that these are shiny? :) This shade knocks my socks off.
 Sheer Rouge
This is the newest addition to my Shine Luxe Sheer collection. It's a stunning classic red that I think really brings life to the face. It's not out of this world bright, but it's not remotely burgundy either. Just good old fashioned cherry red. I'm so glad I got this because I think it'll be so fun to bust out during the holidays! (or any random day!)
I realize this post was pretty much an all out rave for these products, but I love them so much. This past Saturday night, Tyler was keeping Sheer Pink Lust in his pocket for me, and the next day when I couldn't immediately locate it... a bit of panic came over me! These are the bomb, and I wouldn't be surprised if I try more in the future. Next time you're strolling through the makeup aisles of Target, I'd advise you to treat yourself to one of these. It's a little tube of awesomeness. ♥

Daily Nuggets...
  • My pulled pork in the crock pot yesterday was a success! Basically I just put the pork roast in the crock pot with some water, then discarded the water once it was cooked and started shredding. I added in some Famous Daves Apricot Bourbon barbecue sauce and it was delicious. You should've heard Tyler as he ate it!
  • Today I'm doing yet another crock pot project- it's the applesauce that TiffanyD mentioned in a recent video. It's not finished yet, but the house is smelling amazing, as promised! :) I picked up a few red pears and added them into the mix.
  • Apparently it's National Cat Day! I'd tell Cupcake, but then she'd probably start expecting extra wet food.
  • Tonight's Beauty Broadcast Express video is a review of those new Revlon Shadowlinks eyeshadows! Check it out!

  1. These are really lovely. I have the Sheer Pink Lust and wore it all summer. This post makes me want to pick up the plum & rouge shades. I'm just trying to make myself wait for a sale or coupon (although Sonia Kashuk hardly ever goes on sale).

  10. Love these. Sonia Kashuk claims them as a dupe for the Bobbi Brown Sheer Lip Colors. I've done a review of Sheer Plum on my blog :) Sheer Rouge is my newest addition and I'm obsessed as well! x

  15. on Target.com right now there is a coupon you can print for $3 off a $15 purchase for Sonia Kashuk. You can usually print coupons twice per computer.

Nice to help with the price since they don't go on sale.

  21. Hi Emily, I know you blogged about the Lorac unzipped palette a while ago - but can you do a complete review and swatches on it. I am planning on buying it for the holidays and would love your opinion. I love the shades in it , but it would be nice to see a full review and swatches.

  25. I'm late to the party, but next time you make pork in the crock pot, don't add any liquid. Cut the pork butt up so that it's in a single layer across the bottom, with the fat side up, then turn to low. As the pork cooks, the fat will be rendered off, and the pork will cook in its own fat, similar to a confit. It is SO moist and juicy this way!

  26. Ever since you mentioned these & specifically pointed out "Sheer Plum", I was on my way to my local Target. It was sold out, as were most of the other colors. It took several trips to finally find it! It was the last one in the display. But, unfortunately the cap doesn't seem to want to stay "locked" in place. Has anyone else had this problem? Dummy me threw out the receipt so I can't return it for a replacement.

  27. I purchased the Sheer Plum based on your video recommendation for fall lipsticks. I'm loving it. I also picked up the Jordana one you recommended and I would have never ever noticed it. For the Sonia one I bought it a couple weeks ago and there was a coupon on the cartwheel app on my phone, so I got it a little cheaper. I love the buttery texture and color pay off. I usually don't spend that much on what I consider drugstore products, but I may have to pick up another one (or two!)

  28. To the comment above, my cap was kind of loose like that too, but it's never come off. I find when I line up the wording it fits a little better. I'm fearing it would come open in my purse, but it hasn't. That was disappointing.

    1. Thanks Jessica! I think it's a minor flaw and in my case it works better when I DON"T line up the words, but as long as it doesn't come off in my purse I think it will be ok. (I love this color "Sheer Plum" - perfect for fall!)
