Happy Friday!! Woohoo! I posted this pic on Instagram earlier today and had some questions- so I thought I'd share more on the look in a blog! :) (thanks @dianemary126 for the request!) Just a simple outfit- and then this is my first time experimenting with the Tarte of Giving set. I'm not actually reviewing it in this post (that'll probably happen in a video sometime soon), but I just thought I'd show how I incorporated some parts of the set into this look. As far as the outfit- it's a little button-up-the-front shirt dress from the juniors section of Macy's. The brand is BCX and I got it for $29.40... it was originally $49.00. I love the wide tan belt that came with it, and the sleeves are nice too- they're the kind you can roll up above the elbow and button to secure them. I'm 5'0", and a lot of times dresses are a little long on me- but this one seems fine. Also- button up shirts/dresses sometimes gap open a bit on me in the bust area- but this one is good there too! A good find for me! :) I got the flat leather boots on sale from Aldo last spring. You can't see the accessories too well (sorry about that!) but I'm wearing a gold-ish cuff bracelet and some gold stud earrings.
The makeup is very classic/typical for me! I had a shoot today so I didn't want to get too wild. Neutral eyes and berry lips are my safe place, but you probably knew that! For the hair, I used my set of 5 jumbo-sized Conair hot rollers in the crown for volume, and then just curled the rest of my hair with a standard curling iron.
For lips I'm wearing Milani Color Statement lipstick in Sangria. This shade can be VERY intense... I wanted this color tone, but not quite as much depth, so I made sure to blot a couple of times after applying it. Then for some shine I used my Rimmel Stay Glossy lip gloss in All Night Long (cue the Lionel Richie :) Love how comfortable these glosses are on the lips- yet they stay where they belong and don't drift outside my lip line!
I used this set for my cheeks & eyes! The Tarte of Giving set is one of Tarte's many holiday gift sets. I have a lot of work ahead of me when it comes to Tarte reviews! The whole set comes in a roll-up style travel bag. Love the gorgeous purple and the satin-like shine.
It has a little hook so you can hang it up- and then there are three sections for products. Again- I'm not going into tons of detail here since I'll be reviewing this soon- but you have a mascara, cheek stain, blush, maracuja oil, and eye cream up top. In the center is a spot that fits a large eyeshadow palette, and in the bottom there are 8 Maracuja glosses.
I'm wearing this blush today and I think it's absolutely stunning. It's a travel size (.05 oz) of the limited edition Amazonian Clay 12 Hour Blush in Memorable. Definitely a glowy-type blush, so be aware of that. But I think it gives a great "highlight optional" pink sheen to the cheeks! In case you were wondering- the foundation I'm wearing is Estee Lauder Double Wear.
Here's the eyeshadow palette- as you can see- they've packed in 20 Amazonian Clay eyeshadows- a mix of matte and shimmer (I count 7 totally matte shades in there).
For this look, I used the gold from the top right quadrant all over my lid, then used the matte peachy shade from the bottom right set in the crease (LOVE this shade!). I added a little depth with the shimmery deep copper color, and then added just a touch of the dark brown in the outer part of the crease as well. I also smudged the copper and brown on the lower lashline. I forgot to swatch it, but I used the matte cream on the lower right as my highlight.
I used Milani Ultrafine liquid liner in Black Vinyl on my upper lashline, and Em Cosmetics Waterliner in Black Night in the waterline. I'm also sporting Ardell Wispies (not Demi Wispies) false lashes. These are the same lashes from the Warm & Cozy eye look. They're longest toward the center of the lash band, making the eyes look really wide awake.
I'll continue to play with that Tarte set and get a feel for some of the different looks that can be created! I haven't even tried the lip glosses yet, so that'll be fun too. Thanks for checking out this post, and I hope everyone has an awesome weekend!! :)
