ELF Beach Beauty Palette Review

Hi everyone!
Just wanted to share a little review/face of the day using the ELF Beach Beauty 28 Piece Day Palette! I got this for $6 at Target, and it's also being sold online at the ELF website along with a nighttime version. I didn't see the night palette at Target- not sure if they weren't carrying it or if it was just sold out. Either way, this little cardboard palette really does pack in a lot of product-- there are 2 blushes, 2 bronzers, 16 eyeshadows, 8 lip colors, a lip brush/sponge tip applicator, and a mirror. I'll explain the look I did with this kit in a minute, first here's a closer look at all the parts of the palette.
You get a pretty generous amount of product where the blushes and bronzers are concerned. Both blushes seem to have a satin finish, the bronzer on the top right is matte, and the other bronzer has shimmer.
Here's a look at the peach blush, pink blush, matte bronzer, and shimmer bronzer. I was really pleased with the pigmentation and color payoff of the blushes. The matte bronzer is very light and subtle. It wouldn't be deep enough to be a contour shade for tan/deep skintones, and was on the verge of being a little light for me. While the shimmery bronzer is pretty and pigmented, it's super shimmery- so be careful with that one.
They eyeshadows are all shimmery, and looking at the shades vertically,  you have rows of peach, gold, green, and blue. I would have enjoyed some matte shades in this palette, as well as a couple deeper neutral shades like a dark brown or black. While these colors are pretty, it's nice to have a deeper neutral that can anchor the look and not compete with the other colors.
The pigmentation is a little hit and miss... I swatched all of these shadows in the format that they appear in the palette and I did not use a base. Some sort of shadow primer or cream base will definitely improve the color payoff of those lighter shades- which look pretty sheer in the swatches. In a nutshell: with this kit, the deeper the shadow, the better the performance. That bottom row of shadows is really stunning! While I make it a habit to always use an eyeshadow primer, I think you really, really need one with these shadows (especially the light ones) which can be a little powdery/flakey.
I don't normally like it when lip colors are thrown into a palette full of powder products... I don't like when the powder fallout gets into the creamy stuff. However, I'm kind of torn when it comes to this palette because the lip colors are really pretty! I like the variety of pink, berry, and coppery/warm tones. The tiny lip brush on the applicator provided is not very good though... I'd recommend using your own lip brush. If you have any amount of length to your nails, you will have a hard time applying these with your finger since the space in the palette is so small.
Now for the look I did with this palette! I used a mix of the pink and peach blushes, and I used the matte bronzer for a light contour. On the lips, I'm using the rose gold & coppery shades in the center of the bottom row of lip colors.
As a base for the lid, I used this Maybelline Color Tattoo in Icy Mint. I think this might be a limited edition shade. It's really pretty, but I just haven't had a lot of situations where I wanted to use it.
As you can see here- it's a pastel, kind of metallic shade of green. It was nice that it coordinated with the mint green powder shadow I used for the look, but I don't think this particular cream shadow is essential for the look. Any light creamy shade would help the mint shadow pop.
The shadows I used in this palette are the mint green (top right in palette), brown (second row, bottom shadow), gold (second row, third shadow down), peach (first row, third shadow down), and dark green (third row, bottom shadow). I was kind of shooting for a "water and sand" type of look. I was pretty happy with the way it came out!
-I used the Color Tattoo in Icy Mint on the lid
-I patted the mint green shadow on the inner part of the lid
-I used the shimmery brown on the outer half of the lid and in the crease
-I smudged the brown on the lower lashline as well
-Just above the crease, I blended out the brown with the gold color
-I highlighted under the brow with the peach shade, which was very sheer
-After lining the upper lashline with black liquid liner, I used a liner brush with the dark green and blended it over the border. It gives a subtle faded effect to that line, but still maintains the definition.

Overall, I think this is a pretty palette, but it does contain some hit and miss products. While I like the blushes and the lip colors, I would have preferred to have some matte eyeshadows mixed in with all the shimmer. If you're looking to add some color pops to your collection, there are some nice bright shades in this kit! And for $6, it's a very affordable way to experiment. But if you already own a decent variety, I don't think this is a total must-have.

Urban Decay Hautelook Haul!

Hi everyone!
You know how sometimes I do hauls that are also reviews since I've been using the products for awhile? This is not one of those situations! This Hautelook order just arrived on my doorstep so I figured, why not show a little haul? In case you're not familiar, Hautelook is a website that features various brands at sale prices... if you're signed up for emails, you can get updates on what sales are on the horizon. The sales last for a few days- so of course the sale for this Urban Decay stuff is over- but chances are they'll be back on the site in the near future. Sometimes the products being sold are on the verge of being discontinued, other times it's just standard products from a particular line. The downside is that shipping can take awhile (like, up to a few weeks)- but the savings are pretty awesome. And when your stuff finally does arrive, it's like a nice little surprise :) So here's what I got from the Urban Decay sale...
Mariposa Palette
What a pretty palette! This is a little smaller than the size of a CD case. The metal case makes it seem extra durable, so that's a plus. I got this for just $12 on Hautelook, and while I don't see this palette for sale any longer on Urban Decay's website, it's selling for $27.49 on Amazon.
This palette does have some overlap with with the Smoked palette-- Rockstar, Gunmetal, and Mushroom are the same. There may be shades that overlap with other UD palettes that I don't have. While the shadows are rather small, it's nice to get 10 in a palette. I love the color variety- especially with the pops of magenta and turquoise. Unfortunately for matte fans, everything in this palette has at least some shimmer (even Skimp, which might appear matte in the photo). The Wreckage shade is gorgeous, and I'm really loving purples and golds together right now- so it might be fun to combine Rockstar or Infamous with Limelight.
Top row: Rockstar, Gunmetal, Skimp, Infamous, Wreckage
Bottom row: Haight, Money, Mushroom, Spotlight, Limelight
You also get a little flat brush in the palette. Definitely a high quality find for $12!
I've never tried a blush from Urban Decay, so I went for two of the Afterglow Glide On Cheek Tints in Indecent and Quickie. I got these for $6 each and they were originally $24. I just checked the Urban Decay website and it looks like there's still one shade available there under the Sale tab for $6.
Left: Indecent, Right: Quickie
After swatching these, I don't necessarily feel like the texture of these cream blushes is anything super unique or different. But I'll definitely be trying them out in a makeup look soon- using my favorite brush for cream blush-- my ELF Studio Small Stipple Brush
Last but not least, I got the travel size of the De Slick oil-control makeup setting spray. This cost me $6, and was originally $12. You can also find this now on the Urban Decay site for $6. I've used and enjoyed Urban Decay's All Nighter setting spray, so I thought I'd see how this one compared. Plus this size makes it flight-friendly in the carry-on!

Thanks for checking out my little haul! Not that I needed another eyeshadow palette, but I thought that deal was just too good to pass up! Did you get anything from the Urban Decay Hautelook sale?

Mally Evercolor Lip Lacquer Trio

Hi everyone!
About a week and a half ago I was watching Mally on QVC, and something- make that 3 somethings- really caught my eye! These glosses looked absolutely gorgeous and I totally felt compelled to order them. The set is called the Evercolor Lip Lacquer trio, and it costs $36.44. These glosses are said to include a "liner tip paddle" that gives extra precision and control.

As opposed to being a flexible doe-foot applicator, the tip of this wand is very stiff, which I do believe gives more control when you're applying the product. However like most doe-foot wands, it is rounded at the tip, so I don't necessarily feel like it's giving the precision of a lip liner. Still, I do like the applicator and it made applying shiny, bright colors fairly quick and easy. In the pictures below I am not wearing any lip liner- just the glosses- so I feel like I had a pretty good result!

As far as the formula, these are all creamy and very shiny (no shimmer). If you're familiar with Mally's High Shine Liquid Lipsticks, these seem a bit more thin in consistency and more hydrating. They do feel very comfortable on the lips, but if you're doing a lot of talking or eating and drinking- you'll want to re-apply afterward. It's not a long-wear gloss, but I've had one on for about four hours now with no need to re-apply (I've only been sipping on some water and blogging, no major activity :). I did of course need to re-apply after a visit to a local winery yesterday, as you might expect. I noticed on QVC's website there were a few reviews saying these bled into lines around the lips... while I sometimes have that issue with certain products, I haven't had any problem with these. While I love the feel of these lip lacquers, the best part for me is the color intensity! What you see in the packaging is definitely what you get on your lips, and I love that.

Pin-Up- a summery, bright red. I definitely felt like I had to be really careful as I applied this (it's pretty easy to tell when you screw up with a red lip product!) But I think the finished look is stunning and just really brightens up the whole face.

Melonista- While I thought the red and pink were going to be my favorite shades of this trio, this has been the one I've been wearing the most! I LOVE this bright coral/orange. I like how you get the orange tone, but it still seems to have a lot of red in it. Love this shade!

Gerbera Daisy- Who can't use a pretty pink lip gloss? While this one is the most subtle of the bunch, I love that it's still a fully opaque gloss- not sheer at all. If you're scared of neon pink, as you can see this isn't incredibly bright. Just a true pink!

Just wanted to share my thoughts on these new lip lacquers with you! If you prefer subtle, sheer glosses... you might find these a little too bold. But if bold is what you want- you'll love these! And while I didn't have issues with feathering, apparently that's something that could become an problem for some people with these, so be aware of that. Have you tried them yet? What did you think? The other big news where Mally is concerned (thanks to everyone who tweeted and emailed me about this!)- the brand is now being sold at Ulta! How exciting is that? :)

Daily Nuggets...
  • If all goes well, I'm planning to have a video up this evening!

  • Speaking of sleeping- don't you love the feel of fresh sheets on the bed?

Lip Liners for Every Need! And Getting Out of the Comfort Zone...

Hello everybody!
Happy Friday to you! :) I realize lip liners may not be the most exciting topic in the world of makeup, but they can be pretty important- especially when you're after a specific lip look and you want it to look really polished. I think lip liners are great for a number of reasons-- they can define your lips, add to the staying power of the look, and in some cases add a little extra pigmentation to sheer lipsticks or glosses.

In terms of application- here's what I do. Lately I've been making a point to exfoliate my lips using the ELF Lip Exfoliator (you'll see this in a video very soon). I do that before I even start putting on makeup, and follow it up with a balm to get the lips hydrated. Then I continue on with my face makeup, and by the time I get to lips,  they are moist and ready to go. There's nothing worse than trying to draw a lip liner on totally dry, parched lips. (Ok, maybe some things in the world are worse, but you know what I mean :) A lot of times I'll apply lip liner first, by defining the outer border of the lips and filling them in, then top with lipstick and/or gloss (I suggest this method if you're going for ultimate staying power). Other times I'll put on a lipstick, and then quickly use a coordinating liner just to touch up or perfect the edges. Use them however you want! I do think it's valuable to have several different lip liners that can work alongside your various lip colors. A nude, red, and pink/berry would be a great start if you're new to the lip liner world. Here are some of my favorites in my collection...

Left to Right: NYX Retractable Lip Liner in Citrus, Jordana Easyliner in Tawny, Wet n Wild Brandywine, NYX Retractable Lip Liner in Red, Jordana Easyliner in Baby Berry, Estee Lauder Double Wear Lip Liner in Apple Cordial, and Jordana Easyliner in Plush Plum.
(liners are swatched in the same order they're shown above)

  • NYX Retractable Lip Liner in Citrus: I love using this with peach or coral looks. Even if the lipstick or gloss shade I'm using is a bit deeper, this makes a nice base. These NYX Retractable lip liners are also Waterproof-- and that's a claim I commonly see on eyeliners, but not lip liners. They are SUPER long wearing and apply very smoothly.
  • Jordana Easyliner in Tawny: This is a great liner for nude looks. It can be just the added depth you need to define a light lip, and it can work well with all-out nude shades or even light pinks. The Jordana line is super affordable (I find them at Walgreens), and are some of the creamiest lip liners in my collection.
  • Wet n Wild Lip Liner in Brandywine: In my years of magazine-reading, I've found that this lip liner is often brought up as a makeup artist favorite. I find it to be extremely versatile, working with neutral lip looks, and even certain tones of red or berry lip colors. It's extra important to apply this on hydrated lips, since it's not quite as creamy as the others.
  • NYX Retractable Lip Liner in Red: Look at that gorgeous red! If any lip look needs a lip liner, I'd say it's red. As I mentioned with the Citrus shade- I love this long wearing family of lip liners. Another great (and slightly deeper red) is Rimmel Exaggerate lip liner in Ravish, but I ran out and couldn't include a picture.
  • Jordana Easyliner in Baby Berry: This is my go-to lip liner with all kinds of pink lip products. It's absolutely perfection. In the past year or so, my wardrobe of pink lip colors has really expanded, and along the way, I've come across many shades that are more sheer than I'd like. This liner pumps them up perfectly and goes on so smoothly.
  • Estee Lauder Double Wear Lip Liner in Apple Cordial: This shade is so close to a classic red, but on my lips I really feel like it walks the line between red and berry. I LOVE the color and this type of lip liner wears like none other. Take advantage of the staying power and fill in your lips entirely with it. It also comes with a bonus lip brush at the opposite end!
  • Jordana Easyliner in Plush Plum: By this point, I think you know how I feel about Jordana Easyliners :) You know those deep red/berry lip colors that were so hot this past fall and winter? This is the best liner to wear with those looks. The color is so saturated and creamy, the liner practically looks like a lipstick by itself!
I hope that information was helpful for you! Unless you're a total lip product junkie like yours truly, I don't think you need a giant wardrobe of lip liners. But these are just some ideas in case you were in search of a perfect liner to suit a particular look. Thanks for reading!!

This week's fill-in-the-blank question posted on Twitter and Facebook was:
"Getting out of my makeup comfort zone means..."

It was so interesting to read your responses, because for some people getting out of the comfort zone means doing something brighter or more dramatic, and for others it means scaling back and getting more natural. What I love about makeup is that everyone can have a different approach, and nothing is "wrong". And it's normal to feel a little nervous about going out on a limb and trying a new look. But sometimes we just get into ruts and keep repeating the same looks because of habit. Hopefully this question encourages you to think about ways you can get out of your makeup comfort zone and try something new now and then. I know that's my plan! I asked this question because I'm doing a video this coming week that will truly get me out of my own comfort zone :) I'm excited to share it with you!

FOTD Featuring MAC Satin Taupe & Sketch

 Hello everyone!
First off, thanks for joining me on Beauty Broadcast Live today! It was fun, as always!! Last night while I was trying to get caught up on tweets (still have some catching up to do), I saw this one from @Lily_Beth94...

It made me realize that it's been a long time since I've done a look with my MAC eyeshadows! I happen to really like the ones Lily asked about- Satin Taupe is a really versatile mid-toned shade, and Sketch is one of the first MAC products I ever purchased! It's a pretty plum color. So I decided to put together a soft, everyday look with the shades Lily requested, plus a couple of others. I just love when request prompts a video or blog post-- so keep them coming!! :) Here are all the products I used today...

-Revlon Colorstay Foundation for Normal/Dry Skin (Fresh Beige)
-Cover Girl + Olay Concealer Balm (Fair/Light)
-MAC Prep + Prime Highlighter (Light Boost)
-L'oreal True Match Pressed Powder (Sun Beige)
-NARS Bronzer (Laguna)
-Laura Geller Baked ImPRESSions Blush (Mauve Mocha Latte)
-LORAC Perfectly Lit Powder (Spotlight)

-ELF $1 Eyelid Primer
-MAC Shadows in Satin Taupe, Cork, Sketch, and Shroom
-Rimmel ScandalEYES Liner (Nude - in the waterline)
-L'oreal Voluminous Smoldering Eyeliner (Black)
-Estee Lauder Automatic Brow Pencil Duo (Dark Brown)
-Maybelline the Falsies Big Eyes Mascara
-Andrea Strip Lashes #26

Swatched from left to right: MAC shadows in Satin Taupe, Cork, Sketch, and Shroom

For this shadow look, I patted Satin Taupe all over the lid with a flat brush, and also blended it up into the crease with a fluffy brush (you could actually stop there and get a nice "one shadow" look!) Then I blended out the border of Satin Taupe (upper part of the crease/near the brow bone) with Cork. I patted Sketch in the outer corner, slightly pulling it up into the crease. I also used Sketch as my lower liner with a smudge brush, along with a bit of Satin Taupe. See the warmth just above the crease? That's the combination of blending out Sketch and Cork. Kinda cool!

-L'oreal Colour Riche Lipstick (Fairest Nude)
-Rimmel Exaggerate Lip Liner (Eastend Snob)
-Mally High Shine Liquid Lipstick (Mally's Look)

Thanks for checking out this "Face of the Day" and thanks to Lily for requesting those shadows! :) In case you didn't see it on my YouTube channel this morning, I have an announcement!!!
Huge Thanks to Sigma for offering to host this meetup! I really hope I have the opportunity to meet lots of you and get to know you better! Tyler and I are super excited about it (and if you saw the video- so is Cupcake! However, she won't be attending the meetup LOL). If you can come, don't forget to RSVP! You can do so at the email address above or by clicking this link. Sigma also put together this cool blog post letting people get to know me. Thank you again to anyone who is planning to come-- it's going to be so fun!!!

Would You Rather Tag: Makeup Edition!

Hi everyone!
I've been rushing around a bit today doing some shooting, editing, grocery shopping, cleaning... and I wasn't sure what to do for a blog post! Then I  remembered that Lacey from Lacey's Beauty Reviews had tagged me a month or so ago to do the "Would You Rather: Makeup Edition" tag! You can check out her post here, and she also has a YouTube channel! I think you'll really enjoy her! :) Let's get started with the questions!

1. Would you rather lose all of your mascaras, eyeliners, lipsticks, and lip glosses or lose all of your palettes and eyeshadows?
It pains me to think of losing any of it! I have lots of all of those things, so either way, I'd be losing a heck of a lot of products. I feel like mascaras, eyeliners, glosses and lipsticks tend to have a shorter shelf life than most of my palettes and eyeshadows, so I suppose I'd rather loose mascaras, eyeliners, etc. since I'd need to replace them sooner anyway. I'm assuming I'll be able to eventually replace what was lost, RIGHT?! :)

2. Would you rather chop off all your hair or never be able to cut it again?
Well, I guess I'd rather chop it all off... the question doesn't say you can't grow it back! :) Never being able to cut my hair again would be awful. I can only imagine the tangles my fine hair would get into!

3. Would you rather have a coral cheek or a pink cheek?
At first I thought pink... since I love wearing pink and berry lip colors and I just think they compliment each other really nicely! However, A coral cheek isn't too far off from pink, and it really doesn't clash with any lip colors you might choose. I might have to go with coral-- one of my current favorite coral blushes is The Balm Instain blush in Toile.

4. If you had $1,000 to spend, would you rather buy clothes or makeup?
Makeup. Easy! I get so much more excited shopping for makeup than I do shopping for clothes. And I'd make a point to go to an awesome mall with that 1,000 bucks and buy from some really high end brands that I don't normally use. How fun would that be?!

5. Would you rather apply lipstick as eyeliner or eyeliner as lipstick?
It might sound crazy, but I have some pretty pink, nude, bronze and burgundy eyeliners that could make great long-wearing lip colors. I know there are some deep-colored lipsticks out there that could work color-wise to define the eyes... but the texture would be awful. Can you imagine the smudges?

6. Would you rather only shop at MAC or Sephora?
While I have certain products from MAC that I think are great, I'm not totally hooked on the brand as a whole. My urge to always try new things makes me lean toward Sephora. So many more brands to try there! I would really feel like I was cheating on Walgreens though :(

7. Would you rather only use one eyeshadow color or one lip color for the rest of your life?
Another depressing question! I would have to say one eyeshadow color. I love using all kinds of lip colors and can't really imagine just sticking to one. I can't really imagine just one eyeshadow either, come to think of it. I would say I'd just use one eyeshadow color- then I'd work to formulate some sort of product out of random ingredients that isn't technically eyeshadow, just so I could get around this question and continue using different eye colors and lip colors :)

8. Would you rather wear winter clothes in the summer or summer clothes in the winter?
I think I'll go with summer clothes in the winter. I don't like being too hot, and a sweater in the kind of weather we're having now would be a drag!

9. Would you rather have dark nails or bright nails all year round?
Bright nails! It's kind of rare that I go super dark with my nails at any time. I gravitate toward the bright or light colors much more.

10. Would you rather give up your favorite lip product or your favorite eye product?
Why is it always a matter of giving something up? How about a question like, would you rather have a truckload of lip gloss or a truckload of eyeshadow? LOL :) I think it's hard to settle on favorite eye products (like liners and mascaras) but good lip products that could potentially be favorites are easier to come by... so I guess I'd rather give up my favorite lip product, which right now is probably Revlon Lip Butters or Neutrogena Moisture Smooth Color Sticks.

11. Would you rather only be able to wear your hair in a ponytail or a messy bun?
I don't always love the way my hair looks hanging in a ponytail, so I might go with messy bun. I could still wear it high or low or low and to the side, so I guess that wouldn't be so bad!

12. Would you rather never be able to paint your nails again or never use lip gloss?
I wouldn't paint my nails again. And heck, if you can keep them nicely filed and buffed, they wouldn't look too bad! I can't say no to lip gloss!

13. Would you rather shave your eyebrows and have none at all or Sharpie them in everyday?
I am actually cringing as I think about this question. UGH. I can't picture myself without brows. But using a sharpie to fill them in... I don't think it gets more harsh than that. Unless they have the perfect shade (and size/tip) of Sharpie out there, I might have to go without. Wait-- I will go browless until I negotiate with the CEO of Sharpie to create a custom product especially for eyebrows than can be distributed to all people in my unfortunate position.

14. Would you rather live without makeup or nail polish?
As if #12 didn't tip you off, I'm much more attached to my makeup than my nail polish. While it wouldn't be fun, I could live without nail polish. Let's face it, I could also live without makeup. But who would want to?! :)
Thanks again to Lacey for tagging me! I'd encourage any other bloggers to do this tag-- it really makes you think! :)

Daily Nuggets...
  • I made this Skinny Poolside Dip that I found on Pinterest! It's so freakin' good! It's heaven on a cracker, folks! I actually first had this at my friend Kalee's bachelorette party, but was reminded of it when I saw the pin on Pinterest last night.

  • I want to go swimming.
  • Shout out to the dude in the checkout aisle today when I was getting groceries (as if he's reading this)... he was fast, careful, separated and bagged it well, and made eye contact when he told me to "have a nice afternoon". Not a lot of people actually do that! I walked away thinking, there's a happy person who takes pride in his work! :)

New Favorite False Lashes?!

Hi everyone!
Just a quick post to tell you about a new style of false lashes that I'm LOVING! I might even venture to call them my new favorites :) They're the Red Cherry #43. (I may have talked about this line in the past, and other video-makers certainly have. This particular set and some others were sent to me for review). They're on the site Loveyelashes.com for $2.49. That's a better price than most lashes sell for in the drugstore. They're a lot like the Demi Wispies from Ardell/Salon Perfect which I love, but these have a bit more length, and are slightly less thick. They really frame the eye perfectly.

I was wearing these Friday and Saturday night and I'm just nuts about them! So I made sure to snap some pics, knowing I'd be doing a blog post to spread the word. The lashes and the band seem to be great quality, and I love the varying lengths of lashes... some shorter ones to add thickness and obviously some longer ones on the band also. They also have just the perfect curve to them and fit my eyes just right. FYI, I'm wearing the Balm Meet Matt(e) Nude palette in these pics and the same trio of lip products (Avon lipstick & NYX gloss) from my previous post. Anyway, I couldn't help but share!! If you're browsing the Loveyelashes site, you'll notice they carry tons of other brands as well. And if you need some help putting on false lashes, check out my False Eyelashes 101 video! :)

Daily Nuggets...

  • It's been a stormy afternoon so you can guess where Cupcake was-- in the closet!
  • I'm HUNGRY.
  • The Voice finale starts tonight? Who are your favorites? I'm kind of pulling for Danielle, but I also like the Swan Brothers. Heck, they're all great!

Victoria's Secret Inspired Face of the Day

Hi everyone! TGIF! I woke up this morning with some decent-looking second day hair, so I thought I'd embrace the loose waves that always make me think of "Victoria's Secret hair", and put together a makeup look that also makes me think of those beautiful models.

I'm not claiming to look like any of them! (Especially not in my old gray t-shirt- ha!) Just trying to re-create a similar look :) Key elements of the look include a plush pink lip, and a soft smokey eye. Here's what I used! :)

-Revlon Colorstay Foundation in Fresh Beige (I'm trying out the Normal/Dry formula, inspired by MakeupbyTiffanyD :)
-Revlon PhotoReady Concealer in Light Medium
-Ben Nye Luxury Powder in Buff (to set under-eye concealer)
-MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural in Medium Plus
-Guerlain Terracotta Bronzer in 02 (thank you David for this amazing gift!!)
-The Balm Instain Blush in Lace
-Laura Geller Baked Highlight in French Vanilla (forgot to include in pic)

-ELF $1 Eyelid Primer (not pictured)
-Forever 21 Brown/Taupe Palette (specific shades detailed below)
-L'oreal Voluminous Smoldering Eyeliner in Black (upper lashline & waterline)
-Maybelline Master Drama Eyeliner in Taupe Takeover- Limited Edition (I smudged this on the lower lashline-- LOVE IT. Perfect for the soft, smokey look)
-Essence I Love Extreme Crazy Volume Mascara (upper lashes)
-Maybelline Lash Discovery Mascara (lower lashes)

1. I used this pearly shade around the inner corner and lightly under the brow
2. This light, shimmery taupe was applied all over the lid
3. I used the shimmery brown in the crease
4. I blended the matte warm brown just above the crease to soften the look
5. I deepened the outer corner with the matte black
(Under the eye I smudged shade 3 on top of the Master Drama liner, and used a bit of the black on the outer-most part of the lower lashline)

-NYX Retractable Waterproof Lip Liner in Nude Pink
-Avon Totally Kissable Lipstick in Lovey Dovey Pink (LOVE THIS SHADE. OMG. Pearly without being super frosty. Makes the lips look so plush)
-NYX Mega Shine Gloss in Perfect

Hope you enjoy the look! I'm still loving that Forever 21 palette so much-- it continues to surprise me with its pigmentation and blendability! I hope everyone has a great Friday!

Daily Nuggets...
  • It is a BEAUTIFUL morning outside!
  • Father's Day is coming up this weekend... what are you doing for dad? Mine should be receiving some sweet treats in the mail today (hopefully he's not reading this blog post). Have you ever heard of Bake Me A Wish? It's a gourmet cake delivery company, and a portion of the proceeds from your order goes toward Operation: Birthday Cake - which sends cakes to soldiers overseas. I've sent these cakes several times and they have received fantastic reviews from those who receive them. I sent a cheesecake to Tyler's law firm on his birthday and got to try the leftovers... YUM. I'm getting dad the layer cake sampler- it looks awesome and he loves a good dessert! :)
  • Video update: New tutorial coming today! And last night a new Stuff I Love video was posted. I've also re-done the vlog channel in the new layout and everything is split up in playlists.
  • It's Flag Day! Have a great weekend, everyone!
