BH Cosmetics Haul

Hello friends!
This post is all about BH Cosmetics-- a brand that I've been getting lots of questions about! I really haven't tried much from BH Cosmetics over the years (just one palette, I believe!) because I've always thought their products seemed very similar to Coastal Scents, which is a brand that I have tried a lot of things from. But more recently, it seems like each of these brands are coming out with more unique products. Not too long ago, I saw BH Cosmetics being featured on Hautelook (it's not there anymore), and that prompted me to dive in and try some things. This brand is very affordable as-is, but the added discount made it all very tempting! And by the way- it looks like this stuff is all in stock on the BH website if anyone is interested. So far, I've only really tried the blushes enough to be able to review them (click here to watch the video), so this is pretty much just a haul to show you what I got! (Click any of the pictures to enlarge them).
6 Color Concealer & Corrector Palette in Light
This little palette contains 3 skin-tone concealers as well as 3 color-correcting shades. I noticed that middle and deepest shades on the top row are actually kind of peach-toned, making them pretty good for correcting under-eye darkness. The lightest skin-tone shade is also nice for highlighting. I haven't played with all of the corrector colors much yet. I've noticed that while these concealers feel very creamy as your swirl your finger in them, they set to more of a dry feel/finish on the skin. This may be able to be remedied with a more moisturizing eye cream (if you're using them in that area)- but I'll keep you posted on how it goes as I work with the product more. I plan to review it! :)
Special Occasion Eyeshadow & Blush Palette
I haven't worn this palette yet (only swatched so far), but I'm very excited about it! It comes with 30 shadows and 9 blushes. The shadows vary in finish-- some are matte, some are shimmery, and some have a really metallic look. I like the blend of earthy neutrals as well as jewel tones. I think this is going to be a fun palette to play with! The pigmentation seems pretty good throughout, and will probably only improve when these are applied on the lids on top of some sort of primer or base. I also like the variety of blush colors.

Here are some swatches! The top left pic is the first 3 rows, and the bottom left pic is the bottom 2 rows. All of the blushes are on the right. Have you tried this palette yet? If so, what do you think about it?
Lilac Blush Duo
As mentioned above, I've reviewed these blush duos in this video! So check that out for more information. Each duo consists of a large compact with two shades. Lilac is a light pink blush and a pearly highlight. The first swatch is the blush, the second is the highlight, and the third is a mix of the two. Overall, this is kind of a weak blush, in my opinion. It's not that it looks bad on the skin, but the colors are pretty sheer.
Iris Blush Duo
The Iris Blush duo has a deep matte rose and a shimmery coral. The third swatch is the two of those shades combined. Judging by the look of the rose in the pan, I would've expected it to be a bit more intense, but for lighter/medium skintones, I think it provides a really nice level of color. This blush would be my pick of the two, but probably not something that I find special enough to repurchase. Have you tried any of these blush duos? Which ones are your favorites?

Daily Nuggets...
  • Just ate some leftover wings from last night! Tyler's sister Rachel (half of "the twins") is staying with us for a few days so we went to Buffalo Wild Wings, of course.
  • We also made these no-bake cookies last night... I don't think I'd had them since high school. So good!
  • Just felt the baby make some moves in my tummy! I think she wanted to say hi!
  • I really want to go swimming. I don't care if there's a big baby bump out there for all to see!
  • This week's #tydayfriday video on Beauty Broadcast Express will be slightly different... Bub is going to review a food item. Specifically: candy. I hope that's ok with everyone. Stay tuned!

  2. I have three or four of their blushes. They are some of my faves due to the combinations you can make or using just the one color at a time. Also love their Galaxy Chic baked palette and their bronzer is good too.

  19. I have the Iris Blush and the Concealer palette...I LOVE them. My only criticism is that I find that the blush is hard to get a good mixture of the two colors. Ends up being a lot of one side. The Special Occasions palette looks REALLY nice. Love BH Cosmetics!

  21. I do have the Special Occasion palette and I love it. I was not so impressed with the little San Fransisco palette, so I was hesitant to buy any more BH Cosmetics palettes. But this one is just great.

  22. I have one BH Cosmetics palette and I'm not entirely impressed - I find myself really scraping the shadows out with the brush and packing it on the eyelid multiple times otherwise it is patchy. I use high quality primers and brushes so that's not the problem. Oh well it's still nice to have because I wouldn't normally buy some of the brighter colors. I just hauled a bunch of other things and I would love it if you checked my post/blog out!

  25. Emily do you think there are Wet n Wild dupes for the Too Faced Chocolate Bar? I think I see some similarities from the Sparkle Til Morning Palette, Comfort Zone and Walking on Eggshells so far. Except the chocolate smell lol.
