About

What in the world is this little girl thinking about?
Sporting a rainbow striped romper, bracelets made out of leaves, and a big old grin... she clearly knew how to have impeccable style ;)
What Emily didn't know is that one day she'd be sharing that smile

with millions of people...

surrounded by the walls of a hot pink room...

filled with large amounts of makeup.

This is her story...

Emily Eddington is a small town girl from west-central Illinois. Perhaps her early-childhood activities were an indication of what she'd eventually do. She loved rummaging through her mom's purse during church services (there was always makeup in there, sometimes candy). She also loved reading aloud from the newspaper as if she were a news anchor, and would occasionally pitch products from the JC Penney catalog as if she were a QVC host. You could say Emily had a little influence from every family member. Her mom spent years as a cosmetologist. Her dad was a long time school administrator & teacher. Her sister is a teacher and artist. And her brother works in technology and design. It makes sense that a career for Emily might involve creativity, working with people, and teaching them about her interests.

In August of 2006, Emily married her high school sweetheart, Tyler. The two began the adventure of a lifetime together, as they moved away from home, Tyler began law school, and Emily started looking for a job. With a degree in communication from Monmouth College, Emily hoped to work at the TV station closest to their new home. After sending her resume multiple times, followed by multiple calls to the station with no response... she made a few more calls, nearly invited herself to the station for an interview... and was eventually hired for a part-time, behind the scenes position running studio cameras and editing video.

After two years of doing almost every position in the newsroom, she was offered a shot at her dream job- anchoring the morning news. During her four years anchoring News 3 This Morning, Emily was honored with the "Best Anchor" award for medium market television in the state of Illinois from the Illinois Broadcasters Association. Emily opted to step away from anchoring in December of 2012 to focus on her online beauty endeavors... a passion that was in full swing on the internet for years, at this point.

In November of 2007, Emily posted her first video to her YouTube channel, Beauty Broadcast. Since that time, she's uploaded more than 700 videos which have collectively generated 50 million views and attracted more than a quarter-million subscribers. A true one-woman show, Emily shoots and edits all of the videos herself. In addition to her main channel, Emily has a "vlog" channel which features non-makeup-related videos, along with a special series to help viewers boost their confidence and reach their potential. Emily has a beauty blog that she posts to regularly, and has a presence on nearly every major social network

Emily's presence in the online beauty community hasn't gone unnoticed. She's been featured in multiple publications including Elle magazine, Self magazine (as shown above), and The New York Times. Her success earned her a spot in YouTube's very first "On the Rise" poll in 2010, which she won thanks to viewer votes. Emily has appeared on affiliates for major TV networks as a makeup expert, and she interacts with her viewers daily through email and social networks- taking questions, as well as requests for the next video they want to see. Thanks to this level of interaction, Beauty Broadcast is built on viewer-driven content... Emily finds out what the viewer wants to see and learn, then she does her research, creates, and shares. There's no such thing as a "beauty secret" on Beauty Broadcast.

Emily's videos also caught the attention of makeup artist and owner of Mally Beauty, Mally Roncal. Mally is continuously creating a flawless face for some of the biggest celebrities in Hollywood, including Beyonce and Jennifer Lopez. Emily has had the opportunity to learn Mally's techniques first-hand, which are centered around long lasting, high performance makeup. Surrounded by sources of inspiration in her life, Emily is continuously learning, and sharing what she learns from an approachable, honest, "best friend" perspective- putting the viewer first... as she considers them all her friends.

At 29-years-old, Emily still lives with that same child-like joy, positivity, and hope.
No rainbow-striped romper required :)

I can't believe this ! I'm a dis-abled Marine, Now that being said, I happened upon this precious girl completely by accident.

I saw Emily's precious smile, and have spent 2 hours watching her do make-up videos. I couldn't stop, that girl is absolutely the most natural & precious girl I've ever watched.
I see that it's NOT JUST ME, it's the
WORLD that loves this TV & Video Princess.

To Emily's dad, I have to say you and her mom did something perfect. Understand, this precious human is rare, I'm a combat Marine of over 30 years in service and I watched MAKE-UP videos of her, stopping from time to time to close my mouth, lol...

Remember this message, Emily, think about Washington and the White House. No, it's not a joke, it's a destiny that is yours.

YOU have the ability to instill peace and calm, and your beauty is sooooo real, it's not something you can even get from a school, it's inside you dear girl.

I'm a Rendition pilot & I know deception and reality.

Mr Eddington, Emily, formulate yourself a course, stay true to yourself, but if you could allow yourself to think of your love and spirit in an Ambassador of Good, I tell you that the entire Military Arsenal of men and women would vote for you.

You can't see it, but you ARe qualitied as much as anyone to do what has to be done in Washington, and the key is spelled out time and time again IN JUST THESE comments. You are sent from Heaven, this isn't an accident.

It is a bit strange for me, because I have NO idea why you thought you were enhancing your beauty, you were making the products look beautiful and so loving.

You'll be on National Television soon, in a MAJOR Position and I as a leader of men would be sure your paths are always clear.

People, if others read this, help this rare Gem of an outstanding girl to see her potential. Emily, every single person loves you, WHY ?
How can a combat Marine spend 2 hours watching you, just you do make-up ?

People, she's the answer from the Heavens, and from God. And Emily, I am NOT an easy person to crack, I can't remember the last time I came out of character, I'm a former Rendition pilot and spent time in Cuba with our friends of al Qaeda.

You walk amoung protection, and can sit beside Angels, your love is contagious. Use it.

Sell Stock, offer a business model to get your own show, move into the Political arena and in 12 years you'll already be the Governor of some State, however I suggest you might want to lead not based on Political education, just let your heart lead.

People will follow, and I can assure you of other Marines, Navy, Air Force & Army officers who will insure there will be no danger.

Accept yourself and go for it precious. I love you and now I pray I don't start wearing make-up, lol...

Bye bye precious, I can see I was correct, so are a growing number of others. Take your life as far as you wish, and if you so choose, you can take Washington DC.

I wish you so much happiness & good will.

The world is yours Emily, I have led thousands of Marines, and I would humbly follow, support and defend you against all evil, foreign & domestic. so will hundreds of others, and this is right now.

Go for the gold, you're the diamond in the coal bucket, but your sparkling shine of your heart and soul are there for all of us.

I feel fortunate to have stumbled upon you, although I don't really wish to begin using your make-up tips, but I probably would if I could just see you in person or see a real photo of you in all your beauty.

You are from God Emily. This isn't a fluke. go for it sweet girl.

Greg

Emily, if by some miracle you ever did stumble across this message, I would humbly ask you for your photo & maybe your autograph. It is a request of only a civil servant right now, but some day MY photo would be a collectible prize for me to always hold so dear and in the highest esteem. I had to ask, my email is simply the serial number of the last aircraft I lost, so I kinda honor the bird that died so that I would live.

It must be a chore for you and even a bit confusing to you because you simply don't yet see your greatness and how you bond people together. Look at all these comments girl. You have no disenting comments.

You're a hero, all you need is the cause, you're already a leader.

Thank you Precious !

Greg

Ok, so after approximately 20 hours of viewing youtube videos regarding make up choices, I came across one of yours. You were a breath of fresh air and after one, (like a bag of chips) I needed more. I have learned so much from you. I had given up on makeup as my skin is oily and I have large pores, but from listening and watching you, I have gained a new confidence and can't wait to hit the stores. Keep up the good work and GOD bless you. Your ministry is reaching and healing more hearts than you will ever know. :-)

I really enjoy watching your videos, I'm no new to makeup, but I was a one brand girl, Lancome only! Now I'm trying different brands , and every time I see something that I would liked to try, I first check your channel to see if you have a review of the item! Case in point, you helped me decide to get the Tarte Carried Away Collector's Set!
Thanks for the time you take to make all the videos, you're great!!

I am a 30 something proud mother of 4 sons.. So $ is slim pickens around here and in my world I have always come last. I found your videos by accident and I was hooked. For days all I did was view ALL of your videos. Your like a great book you can't put down and great comedy all wrapped in a sweet beautiful package. I have all way gone with no make-up almost all my life. Not because I don't like it I just had no idea how to do it and what to get (and I am redheaded) But you made this tomboy onto a glamour girl. With your easy to follow tips and you all ready did the leg work on the drug store products. For the first time I dont feel lost in a makeup world. I am so thankful for all you have done for the lost ladies. Now if I could figure out how to subscribe form my kindle

You really do light up a room! Your videos are so personal and it feels like we are just having a chat rather than watching a youtube vid! I love that you use both high end things and drug store items! Will continue to watch as long as you continue to post!!!

Hi Emily! I am so happy to have stumbled upon your YouTube Channel whilst looking for BB cream reviews. I love how candid, down to earth, and informative your videos are. I have since purchased quite a few of your cosmetic product recommendations and all have proven to be great! As a fellow brunette with brown eyes, I really like all the looks you put together. Your tutorials and recommendations have helped me to revive my 'blah' makeup routine and revamp my very bland/tired/old cosmetic non-existent collection. SO thank you!
